According to legal filings in its case against her, Brit Eady fully understood what she was signing up for when she became a cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Bravo claims.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, producers strongly dispute claims made by a former contestant from season 16 of the Georgia-based reality show that she was harmed by the network in a lawsuit seeking $20 million.
In court documents filed last year, the former Bravo personality accused the network of defamation, causing emotional distress, and creating a sexually harassing and hostile work environment. Her claims stemmed from an incident involving Kenya Moore that was shown on the show.
Bravo’s lawyers argued that Eady was trying to change past events and disregard the agreements she made when she joined the show.
Bravo stated that Eady filed the lawsuit simply because she didn’t like the fallout from being on a well-known, long-running reality show.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Eady and representatives for Bravo for further comment.
In legal filings, Bravo emphasized that the show is known for its genuine, unscripted conversations, conflicts, and dramatic moments between the women featured on it.
According to Moore, the series included posters with disturbing images purportedly of Eady, but she insisted the person in the images wasn’t her.
In legal filings from last year, reviewed by Daily Mail, Eady referenced the show’s sixteenth season, fifth episode, where Moore discussed images related to ‘revenge porn’.
Eady said that Moore’s comments about her were ‘false, defamatory, harassing and damaging.’
It was later learned that Eady was not the woman seen in the racy images.
In a court document filed last year, Eady stated she didn’t see the specific photograph until almost a year after it was shown on Bravo.
As a lifestyle and media expert, I’ve been following this case closely. Essentially, the claim alleges that Bravo acted carelessly – or even intentionally – when they aired an episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta back in April of 2025. The issue revolves around footage and commentary included in that episode, specifically relating to statements made by cast members and their reactions to certain photographs that were shown. It’s being argued that Bravo shouldn’t have aired that particular content, given the potential harm it caused.
Additionally, the way the show presented the graphic sexual photograph led viewers to incorrectly believe it showed Eady.
Last year, Eady’s lawyers stated that Bravo knew the picture they wouldn’t show her didn’t actually feature her, and that if they’d shared this information, she could have corrected the mistake.
According to her lawyers, Eady was subjected to unwanted, offensive, and sexually suggestive behavior and comments due to her gender. Continuing to make her work in that environment, after a gender-based attack, created an unfair and disadvantageous work situation for her because of her gender.
Bravo stated that the documents Eady signed before appearing on the show clearly indicated she might encounter potentially offensive or upsetting behavior from other cast members.
Bravo stated in its legal filing that filming the show could create stressful or emotionally difficult situations for cast members.
Bravo noted that the show was already successful when Eady became a cast member, having previously featured well-known reality stars like Moore, Nene Leakes, Kim Zolciak, and Porsha Williams.
Honestly, I’m still reeling from everything! They suspended Moore after what happened, and it’s like they’ve completely frozen him out – no invites to come back at all. But get this – they asked Eady to return for season seventeen! Can you believe it? She actually turned them down, which is… well, it’s just so Eady, isn’t it? I’m obsessed with this show and this whole situation is wild!
Bravo has requested the court to throw out the case, arguing they shouldn’t be held responsible for what happened.
