Rhian Sugden Blasts Husband for Drinking While She and Baby Rush to A&E
Rhian Sugden criticized her husband Oliver Mellor for going out to drink social events, as they both ended up in the emergency room with their 11-month-old son George.
On a Saturday, the lingerie model, aged 38, used her Instagram Stories to express her displeasure towards her ex-Corrie actor husband, 44, whom she married in 2018. The reason for her annoyance was his decision to go out with friends instead of assisting at home.
Rhian disclosed that she was hastily admitted to the hospital on two occasions due to Quinsy, an old-fashioned ailment causing her intense pain, while George is suspected of having contracted measles.
She seethed: “Has anyone else found themselves so unwell that they needed to visit the emergency room twice within two days, only for their spouse to choose going out drinking with friends over helping at home? Or is it just me who’s facing such misfortune?
TopMob have contacted Oliver’s reps for comment.
In addition, she provided a new status while lying in bed, informing her fans, “I’m back at home (for those inquiring), but oh my goodness, I’ve worsened significantly.

‘A few days ago, they took me to the emergency room due to how severe my condition was. However, despite being on potent antibiotics, I have a feeling that it has worsened.’
I’d rather not occupy a hospital bed unnecessarily, and I’d prefer not to alarm anyone by calling an ambulance, but I’m finding it difficult to breathe properly and I’m having trouble swallowing.
I’ve never experienced a more painful sore throat in my life; it feels like giving birth ten times over. Despite having a strong tolerance for pain, this Quinsy has left me utterly distressed.”
This version maintains the original meaning while using simpler and more natural language, making it easier to read and understand.
Previously, I took to sharing an image from a hospital room, keeping my supporters informed about another twist in my health journey.
She mentioned that she recently visited the doctor again due to her sore throat being incredibly painful. Despite having a high tolerance for pain, she believes this discomfort is exceptional.
It appears I have peritonsillar abscess (Quinsy). I used to think this was an old-fashioned ailment from the Victorian era, but if anyone has experienced it, I can only say, oh dear me, I’m having trouble finding words. Opening my mouth is excruciating.
Rhian captioned the hospital snap of herself: ‘Quinsy: 1, Rhian: 0’.
Regrettably, this isn’t her sole health concern, and in a recent announcement about her diagnosis, she shared that her son is also facing some health issues as well.

She mentioned: ‘My son, George, might have measles and is currently at the Emergency Room. So, I’m not sure where we’ve been recently, but we won’t be venturing out anymore.’
The NHS explains that Quinsy is an infection caused by bacteria, which initially affects one of the tonsils before spreading to the area surrounding it. This process causes the affected tonsil to move inward and makes the soft palate appear enlarged or swollen.
People suffering from this antibiotic-responsive illness often find it difficult to open their mouths much wider than a couple of centimeters.
Measles, on the other hand, is often a viral illness found in many children, identified by a specific rash, high temperature (fever), and persistent cough.
Both illnesses can be passed from person to person.
Rhian’s health issues arise following her recent response to critics who judged her choice for a breast reduction surgery.
In a post featuring a bikini picture, she wrote: “I find it unfortunate that I need to write a caption to explain my actions regarding MY own body.
About a year ago, prior to becoming pregnant, my breasts were quite substantial, falling within the range of a DD or E cup size – still comfortable enough to handle on a daily basis.
Following the arrival of my baby, I’ve found myself expanding to a size F and overflowing from my bras. I’m opting for a breast lift and reduction procedure.
As a devoted admirer, let me share with you an exchange I’ve had with so-called “boob experts” – men, it seems. They’ve been suggesting that if I were to shed some pounds, miraculously my bust would downsize. But here’s the thing: I’m exactly the weight I was before, and yet, contrary to their professional opinions, my “melons” haven’t shrunk an inch. Who would have thought?
She mentioned: “I’m experiencing discomfort in my back. I yearn for styles of dresses without straps. Purchasing alluring lingerie and going braless when I venture out, exercising, swimming – without them slipping from my swimsuit. They don’t bring me the joy I anticipate this much.
“It’s MY body. It’s my Happiness and it’s MY choice.”
