RFK Jr. SLAMMED: Reality Star Fires Back After Son’s Autism Diagnosis
Brittany Cartwright is openly criticizing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for his contentious statements regarding autism, and she’s making her stance clear without mincing words.
On my latest podcast episode of “When Reality Hits,” I firmly addressed the 71-year-old Secretary of Health and Human Services, taking him to task for overbroad statements about individuals within the autism community. As a dedicated follower and advocate, it’s crucial that I use this platform to challenge such misconceptions.
On a fervent note, I found myself utterly taken aback during Kennedy’s press conference on Wednesday. His announcement of a new directive, aimed at investigating supposed ‘environmental exposures’, potentially linked to the increase in autism diagnoses, was intriguing, to say the least. However, it was his depiction of individuals with autism that truly ignited my passion and sparked outrage among advocates. His portrayal seemed gloomy, painting a picture that was far from the resilience, creativity, and uniqueness I’ve come to admire in this community.
Kennedy stated, “They won’t ever contribute through taxes, maintain employment, participate in baseball, compose poetry, or go on a date. Most of them will never manage to use the restroom independently.
Currently, Brittany, who disclosed last week that their son Cruz was diagnosed with autism in the fall, is responding forcefully.
On the April 18th episode, she expressed her dismay by saying: ‘He implied that autism breaks families apart. His list of behaviors typically absent in individuals with autism was extensive and generalized. This statement irked me since the autism spectrum encompasses a wide range of abilities and behaviors.’

She continued, ‘That is not everybody.’
She continued, “That felt a bit uncomfortable for me, somehow.” Explaining further, “It was disheartening as it occurred on such a prominent stage, and the spread of inaccurate information is indeed a significant issue.
Before sharing the news, Cartwright shared that she and her former partner had kept their son’s diagnosis private, confiding only in their immediate family members and closest friends, for a period of six months.
She shared the details of her diagnosis, its implications, and her treatment plan with her dear ones by writing out a clear explanation for them.
Additionally, she shared with them that she felt ‘meant for this.’
According to what Cartwright shared with People, he finds it difficult at times, but can hardly envision his life taking a different course.
It’s disheartening at times, as you wish they could seize every moment of life, and indeed they do, but in ways that differ from what you might expect.
‘I’d like to convey that someone with autism perceives the world in an exceptionally vivid and wondrous way, something beyond what most of us can experience.’

The woman from Kentucky emphasized that her child’s diagnosis wouldn’t hinder him from becoming the “smartest in his class” or pursuing a career at NASA someday.
‘There aren’t any limitations to what he can do,’ she declared.
Cartwright’s reply mirrors the sentiments shared by numerous individuals within the autism community, who find Kennedy’s comments offensive.
One of the individuals responding is Eva Erickson, a notable survivor on the show, who this week demonstrated the incredible abilities of those with autism by winning the Immunity Challenge.
Hi, I’m Eva, contestant from Survivor 48. I have autism. In a recent video on Instagram, I made it clear that RFK is mistaken about the potential accomplishments someone with autism can achieve in their life.
As a steadfast advocate for individuals with autism, I firmly stand by my conviction that I, too, possess extraordinary capabilities. In contrast to RFK Jr., I wholeheartedly recognize the remarkable resilience and strength within our community. I am honored and privileged to be part of this exceptional group of people.
She titled her post, “I have autism as well as a loving family, a thriving profession, enjoy playing sports, and have an extraordinary partner! It’s audacious of RFK Jr. to dictate our capabilities.
