As a long-time follower of British television, I must say that I found the incident involving Alan Carr and Phillip Schofield at the Royal Varity Performance to be quite amusing, albeit a bit sad. The humor was quick, witty, and perfectly timed – much like a well-cooked Yorkshire pudding at Sunday dinner.
At the Royal Variety Performance, when comedian Alan Carr joked about Philip Schofield’s reduced workload following his affair scandal, the crowd erupted in uproarious laughter.
However, ITV, the presenter’s previous workplace, and the broadcasting channel airing the event, removed the joke from the program, possibly due to concerns that it might lead to another disagreement between the presenter and them.
At the Royal Albert Hall during their live broadcast on November 22nd, popular hosts Carr and Amanda Holden conversed about how they unwound over the course of the day.
Ms Holden had said she’d been juicing while it seemed Carr hadn’t eaten his dinner.
Next, a Deliveroo driver stepped onto the stage carrying approximately ten boxes filled with assorted pizzas. This led Carr to instruct the delivery person to bring them to his dressing room.
After the Deliveroo driver exited, Alan remarked, “I shouldn’t be too critical. What matters most to me is that Philip Schofield seems to be back at work again!
One attendee shared with the Mail: “Alan was absolutely hilarious! His jokes flowed effortlessly, leaving everyone in stitches.
Everyone was rolling with laughter, the timing was impeccable and it was incredibly amusing. It’s oddly surprising that ITV left it out of their final cut.

61-year-old Schofield engaged in a verbal dispute with ITV, a former employer spanning over three decades until his departure 18 months back, on his Channel 5 program titled Cast Away.
He inflamed the fall out by insisting he was sacked rather than leaving following his affair with a much younger This Morning colleague.
He additionally criticized his previous friend and fellow star Holly Willoughby, This Morning’s editor Martin Frizell, and head of daytime programming Emma Gormley, using a derogatory term, referring to them as “the trio in question.
A TV source said: ‘Perhaps ITV didn’t want to start another row with Phil by putting that on air.’
Ms Holden, aged 53, has openly expressed her negative feelings towards Schofield, as she alleged that he prevented her from taking over the hosting role previously held by Ms Willoughby during I’m A Celeb in 2018.
In mid-2019, Ms Holden expressed her feelings towards Schofield quite openly during an appearance on Heart Breakfast radio show. During a game where participants had to name things they wouldn’t want to find in their homes, she listed spiders, flies, and Philip Schofield.
Almost four million tuned in to watch the Royal Variety Performance last night.
One audience member said: ‘We had the most fabulous night at the Royal Albert Hall. Alan and Amanda were hilarious with some of the many highlights being the cast of Oliver and seeing Elton John introduce The Devil Wears Prada.’
ITV declined to comment.
