Okay, so everyone’s losing their minds over Jessie Buckley, and rightfully so – she’s incredible! But did you know she’s secretly married? I mean, it’s not exactly hidden, but it’s not splashed everywhere either. And get this – her husband isn‘t some random person! He’s actually been in the industry for ages, doing some really interesting things. I was doing some digging, and his past is honestly wild – a total showbiz veteran! I’m obsessed with learning everything about them both!
For seven years, 36-year-old actress Hamnet has deliberately kept her husband’s identity private. They met on a blind date, and she’s intentionally protected him from the attention that comes with her growing success.
Jessie is getting ready for the Oscars, having been nominated for her role as Shakespeare’s wife, Agnes. However, her husband won’t be joining her on the red carpet.
The Irish actress recently shared that her husband, a mental health professional, won’t be accompanying her to red carpet events due to the demands of his job.
However, Daily Mail can reveal that Jessie’s low-profile partner has a hidden past in showbiz.
Freddie Sorensen, a 47-year-old from Islington, has an impressive work history, having even worked with Simon Cowell at one point.
I was always amazed by Freddie’s talent, and it really didn’t surprise me that he went on to work behind the camera after performing. He became a TV producer, and I was thrilled to see him involved in shows like ‘Game of Talents UK’ on ITV, with Vernon Kay. Even more recently, he played a key role in bringing back ‘Gladiators’ on the BBC – I watched the reboot and learned he actually produced a couple of the episodes in 2022! According to IMDb, he really left his mark on that show’s comeback.
In 2016, he also helped start Rebel Bingo, a fun and lively update to the classic game of bingo, designed to appeal to a younger, more energetic audience – and often enjoyed with drinks.

Freddie started this project after years of hosting lively variety shows at Farringdon town hall, well before he met his wife.
Jessie and Freddie, who she considers exceptional, got married in 2023. The romantic ceremony took place at their beautiful 15th-century home in Norfolk, after they had been together for five years.
Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande’s record executive friend, Marc Robinson, set them up. For their first date, they took a walk along Regent’s Canal in Hackney, East London.
Last year, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter who is now four months old.
Jessie, known for appearing on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s BBC show I’d Do Anything in 2008, recently told Vogue that her husband doesn’t plan on joining her at any upcoming public events or premieres.
Instead, she playfully suggested he’d be enjoying the parties and snacks at events promoting ‘Hamnet,’ a play about Shakespeare’s sadness after his son died.
Despite her comments, Freddie has attended the Oscars before.
In 2022, he was spotted laughing and enjoying himself at a table with famous actresses Olivia Colman and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Jake Gyllenhaal was close by, and Jessie was with him.

A beaming Jessie was also pictured leaning into her then-boyfriend at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.
Freddie consistently shows his support for the red-haired actress, especially as she becomes more well-known. He often posts online about how much he enjoys her movies and other projects.
In addition to his work on television, Freddie organized popular parties in London with his childhood friend, James Gordon. They called their events ‘Red Class,’ a playful reference to their school days together.
The events evolved into Rebel Bingo Club and later the era-themed party night The End of the World.
Rebel Bingo still has a popular Instagram page with over 3,500 followers, and they’ve expanded to offer unique, adventurous events like haunted bingo nights.
Freddie left his career in TV and event planning to study at university and dedicate himself to raising awareness about mental health.
He went on to start the podcast “Depression For Beginners,” aiming to support others facing the same mental health challenges he had overcome.

He described his podcast as a project born from personal experience, explaining that he was creating the kind of support he wished he’d had during a very difficult time with his mental health.
Freddie created Rebel Lectures, inspired by his popular Rebel Bingo events. He explained in 2017 that his goal with Rebel Lectures was to make learning more engaging, lively, and memorable – essentially, to move beyond traditional, dry approaches.
This week, Jessie reminisced about her first taste of public attention on the TV show I’d Do Anything, hosted by Graham Norton. She was a finalist, coming in second place while competing for the part of Nancy in the musical Oliver!
She stated that some judges made sexist remarks and unfairly concentrated on her looks, calling the whole experience deeply upsetting and damaging.
Jessie explained that she was focused on finding her own identity at the time. She also expressed a strong hope that young women, especially those aged 15 to 17, won’t have to experience the kind of harsh treatment she faced on the show.
‘But I didn’t recognise it fully at the time. I just felt it, which was difficult.’
