Revealed: Ant McPartlin sent ex Lisa Armstrong a bouquet of flowers when their beloved dog Hurley died

Ant McPartlin showed support for his ex-wife, Lisa Armstrong, by sending flowers after the death of their dog, Hurley. This gesture suggests a possible easing of the strained relationship between the two.

According to sources at The Daily Mail, 50-year-old Britain’s Got Talent host Ant McPartlin personally arranged for flowers to be delivered to Lisa Armstrong’s house the day after her labrador passed away.

The makeup artist from Strictly Come Dancing, age 49, was really happy with the kind gesture, playfully telling friends it had been a long time – years, in fact – since Ant had sent her flowers.

The former couple, who are no longer on good terms, came together briefly at a veterinary clinic in London where their dog, Hurley, was recently euthanized.

According to the Daily Mail, Lisa was heartbroken by the loss of Hurley. Ant stayed with the 12-year-old dog as Hurley passed away in his arms.

It seems losing their dog has helped the former couple reconnect, and Ant’s kind gift is a perfect example of their renewed closeness.

A source revealed to The Daily Mail that Lisa was very surprised by the flowers, saying she hadn’t anticipated receiving them at all.

Lisa was really moved by the gesture, calling it a very kind thing to do. She even playfully told her friends it had been a long time since Ant had sent her flowers.

According to a source, things are slowly improving between Ant and Lisa, suggesting they might be able to have a friendly relationship again soon.

Ant and Lisa got married in 2006, but their relationship later fell apart, leading to a costly divorce in 2018 involving around £30 million.

The conflict between them worsened when Ant began a relationship with his former personal assistant, Anne-Marie Corbett, whom he married in 2022. They now have a son named Wilder, and Ant helps raise Anne-Marie’s two children from a previous relationship.

They reached a court-approved agreement to share custody of Hurley, switching care of the dog every week.

Lisa and Ant disliked each other so much that their mothers – Lisa’s mother and Ant’s personal assistant – typically handled getting their son, Hurley, to each of their homes, because the former couple couldn’t stand to be in the same place.

Lisa was determined to gain full custody of Harley, particularly because Ant already owned several other Maltipoo dogs named Milo and Bumble, belonging to Anne-Marie.

Last week, the Daily Mail reported that the former couple had their dog cremated and each kept half of the ashes.

The ex-couple will each have separate memorial services to remember their Labrador.

After Hurley passed away, she traveled to Portugal, and Lisa went to Los Angeles to mourn their beloved dog.

While traveling abroad, the couple arranged to have Hurley cremated and his ashes divided in two. Each of them will collect one half.

A pal said: ‘Ant and Lisa agreed to share Hurley’s ashes 50/50.

‘It’s a decision they felt was fair and it means they’ll both be able to hold their own farewells.

Ant has already retrieved his ashes, and Lisa plans to get hers when she gets back from her trip.

The family likely plans to bury the ashes in each of their gardens, allowing them to visit and remember Hurley often.

Now Hurley has passed, Lisa now has no links with Ant whatsoever.

According to a source close to the situation, Bob Hurley was the common link between Lisa and Ant, and his death marks the end of a significant chapter in their lives.

‘It’s unlikely they’ll ever speak or see each other again.

‘They have totally separate lives, different social groups.

Perhaps the only good thing about Hurley’s death is that it allows both him and the other person involved to finally move on completely.

Ant thanked Hurley for supporting him through his struggles with addiction, including a stay in rehab in 2019.

He said: ‘There’s a loyalty and a love and a companionship with Hurley that you can’t describe.

‘He never tells me off and is always pleased to see me.

‘I came out of a shop the other day and there was a woman on the floor cuddling Hurley.

‘She said to me, ‘It’s the dog from the papers!’ Hurley’s a celebrity.’

Hurley loved going to the groomer and even got to spend a vacation with Ant and his family last summer.

Ant McPartlin shared that Hurley was permitted to see him while he was in rehab following his 2018 conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol.

You know, one of the things that really drew Ant and Lisa to Hurley was their journey with starting a family. They really wanted to be parents, and after facing some challenges having children biologically, they decided adoption was the right path for them. It just felt like a perfect fit!

Ant revealed he wants to have more children, calling being a father his ‘greatest achievement.’ This might not sit well with his ex-wife.

Ant said on his podcast: ‘I’ve got three and I’d have more’.

He added: ‘It is the best, the absolute best being a dad.

And I was lucky enough to be stepdad to my girls a few years before my son was born.

I think I had a wonderful start to being a dad because I was able to connect with my children right from the beginning.

‘We could go out and the feedback was immediate.

Having Wilder gave me a chance to experience all the fun things with a baby and toddler that I missed out on with my daughters.

‘So, I’ve had the best of both worlds really’

He added: ‘It changes you for the better.

‘All of the sleepless nights, the early mornings, the tiredness is worth it.

‘It’s the greatest thing I think you can do.

‘It far surpasses anything that we’ve achieved in our career.’
