Reunited Disco Elysium Masters Launch ‘Hopetown’: A New Narrative-Focused RPG Awaits Your Backing!

A studio, called Longdue, established by ex-Disco Elysium creators along with other experienced professionals in the field, has declared their intention to secure funding through crowdsource means for their first project, Hopetown – an immersive Role Playing Game (RPG) focusing on psychology.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share my vision for a game that seamlessly merges the intense emotional resonance and intricate psychology of Disco Elysium, with the profound philosophy and captivating storytelling of Planescape: Torment. This new adventure promises to unfold in a unique world where every choice you make creates ripples, shaping the landscape as light and darkness clash.

On Longdue’s team is Piotr Sobolewski, who played a crucial role in developing Disco Elysium’s fundamental systems. It appears that Sobolewski is now expanding on his work with that game, “creating a fresh perspective for what narrative-driven RPGs can accomplish”. You can sign up for early access to the Hopetown fundraising campaign here.

According to the Hopetown crowdfunding announcement, they are assembling an exceptional team for an upcoming project. This team aims to create a role-playing game (RPG) that emphasizes storytelling and will contribute significantly to the psychological, narrative-driven RPG genre during its launch.

However, the studio isn’t merely gathering talent; it’s creating an environment for moments that will be indelibly etched in memory. Fans should brace themselves for unexpected delights that will reignite their passion for what made Disco Elysium distinctive, including some familiar voices that will strike a chord with the community.

Absolutely, the project known as Hopetown is still in its infancy, yet we eagerly anticipate updates about the potential sequel to Disco Elysium. Here’s hoping it will eventually make its way onto gaming consoles as well.
