Returning thriller branded ‘most exciting new drama of 2025’ finally confirms new-season date

The popular, Emmy-nominated thriller Paradise just dropped a trailer for its second season, revealing the release date for new episodes.

The political thriller Paradise is set in a massive underground bunker three years after a catastrophic event. It follows a secret agent investigating the US president’s murder and the secrets surrounding it.

Sterling K. Brown plays Xavier Collins, and Julianne Nicholson stars as Samantha ‘Sinatra’ Redmond, the incredibly wealthy woman in charge of the bunker.

Season 2 will premiere on February 23rd next year, and Shailene Woodley will be joining the cast, though her role is currently a secret. The preview shows her character in the real world, suggesting she and Xavier will meet.

In the latest episode, Xavier will be on a quest to find his wife, Teri (Enuka Okuma), who was believed to have died in the previous season.

In the trailer, we hear Xavier say, “I need to find my wife,” while he’s shown stuck inside the wrecked cockpit of an airplane.

Season 2 follows Xavier as he looks for Teri and discovers how people have been living since the catastrophic event known as ‘The Day.’

Life in Paradise is disrupted as residents grapple with the fallout from the previous season, and hidden truths about the city’s history begin to emerge.

Now that the show has explained how the bunker was built in its first season, the new season promises to introduce even more unsolved puzzles.

“It was never just about the bunker,” Nicholson’s Sinatra says in the final scene of the trailer.

Dan Fogelman, the creator of This Is Us and the show’s developer, says the next season will have more science fiction themes. He previously worked with Brown on This Is Us, where she played Randall.

We answered all the initial questions about the bunker and its origins in season one, but season two delves deeper into the true reasons for its creation and the secrets it holds, according to a recent interview with Deadline.

The second season deliberately features more science fiction elements than the first, particularly focusing on themes of climate change, science, and their potential consequences.

The new drama series Paradise is gaining attention, earning a ‘fresh’ rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and being called “the most exciting new drama series of 2025″ by SSG Syndicate.

I’m really excited about the cast! Sarah Shahi plays Gabriela Torabi, a therapist, and Nicole Brydon Bloom is Jane Driscoll, a Secret Service agent protecting the president. James Marsden plays the president, Cal Bradford, and we see him through flashbacks – it’s a mystery because he’s been murdered! It’s going to be a great show.

The second season of Paradise will arrive on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US on February 23, 2026. You can currently stream the first season on both platforms.

As a huge TV fan, I’m so excited about the Good Housekeeping Christmas TV Guide! It’s got listings for 14 whole days of Christmas shows, so I can plan all my festive viewing. Seriously, it’s everything I need to make the holidays extra cozy – and it’s only £4.75! I’m grabbing a copy from my local magazine shop right now.
