Returning sitcom branded ‘one of the all-time greats’ reveals first look following perfect season

In simpler terms, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is coming back for its seventeenth season, and it looks like Frank is determined to find his soulmate – even if he doesn’t express it quite so delicately.

The classic comedy has regained its former splendor in season 16, garnering a flawless 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s being acclaimed as one of the finest sitcoms ever made.

In the next episode, our riotous sitcom is set to collide with other Disney series such as Abbott Elementary and The Golden Bachelor.

In the second episode, it is revealed that Danny DeVito’s character will eventually discover an exceptional, top-quality person to fall in love with. Host Jesse Palmer makes a brief appearance, looking perplexed by Frank’s strange behavior.

DeVito joins Rob McElhenney (Mac), Kaitlin Olson (Dee), Charlie Day (Charlie), and Glenn Howerton (Dennis) once more, all lending their time to Abbott Elementary School as the gang takes on volunteer work there.

As a dedicated fan, I eagerly tuned into the family-friendly version of the crossover episode of “Abbott Elementary” that aired in February here in the US. But, if you’re looking for something decidedly more adult-themed, just wait for “It’s Always Sunny” to share their unique take on the same story – it’s bound to be much more risqué!

In the trailer, the mastermind behind “Abbott Elementary,” Quinta Brunson, makes an appearance. The chaotic gang from “It’s Always Sunny” is seen causing mischief at the school when they decide to lend a helping hand as volunteers.

Following their discovery while eating all the treats in the staff room, the gang becomes unruly in the hallways, with Frank acting out by urinating into a student’s locker.

After getting caught red-handed devouring all the goodies in the teachers’ lounge, the group loses control and causes chaos in the corridors, while Frank takes it to another level by soiling a student’s locker with urine.

“Are you pissing in that locker?” Charlie asks, half horrified, half amused.

As I downed a whole lot of coffee, here I am, trying to keep up with this wild bunch of new volunteers – quite the rollercoaster ride! (Brunson’s Janine looks worried as the camera pans over.)

The seventeenth season of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” will make its debut in the United States on July 9th, airing two episodes on FXX. The episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day.

In the UK, the show airs on Disney+, with an exact release date for the new episodes TBC.

The inaugural print magazine from Digital Spy is out now! You can grab a copy of “British Comedy Legends” from your local newsagent or purchase it online for only £3.99.
