Sky has released the first image of Ella Purnell (known for her roles in Fallout and Yellowjackets) as Rhiannon Lewis in the second season of Sweetpea. The darkly comedic thriller will see Purnell reprise her role as the quiet character who becomes a killer, with the new season bringing fresh dangers to the story.
Rhiannon’s life is spiraling out of control. She’s just gotten a promotion, started a passionate new relationship, and is now being targeted by someone who’s mimicking a dangerous killer. As the threats escalate, she begins to wonder if her ex-boyfriend was right about her – if she’s capable of monstrous behavior.
This season introduces two new actors to the show: Rish Shah will play Gabriel, a love interest for Rhiannon, and Tamsin Greig joins the cast as Liv, the mother of AJ.

Taj Atwal, known for her role in Line of Duty, will appear this season as Freya, Rhiannon’s strong and challenging new boss at the Carnsham Gazette. Jenny Walser, from Heartstopper, joins the cast as Daisy, Rhiannon’s new, devoted friend.
I’m so excited to see some familiar faces returning for the new season! Jeremy Swift, who I loved as Higgins in Ted Lasso, is back, along with Jon Pointing from Big Boys. Ingrid Oliver (Thursday Murder Club), Leah Harvey (Foundation), Nitin Ganatra (EastEnders), and even Alexandra Dowling (Game of Thrones) are all joining the cast again – it’s going to be amazing!

The producers of Sweetpea – Purnell, Ella Jones, and Patrick Walters – announced they’re excited to bring the show back for a second season. They promise new characters and a thrilling continuation of Rhiannon’s story as she navigates a dangerous path.
“This season, the stakes are even higher, and as the consequences.”
Meghan Lyvers, head of Original Scripted for Sky (UK&I), also expressed excitement, saying they’re thrilled to bring back popular characters and introduce a talented new cast. She promised the second season of Sweetpea will be full of hilarious scenes, fast-paced stories, and the show’s signature morally complex themes.
Okay, so Sweetpea wrapped up its second season back in November 2025. I found out through Instagram – Leah Harvey, who plays Marina on the show, actually posted the announcement herself. It was a bit of a bummer, but at least we know when the season officially ended!

Harvey announced that filming for season two of Sweetpea has finished! He described the experience as amazing, sharing his love for his character, Marina, and the entire team behind the show. He’s looking forward to seeing the final product on screen and gave a shout-out to everyone involved.
Purnell observed a significant shift in the show’s second season, describing it to Deadline as much more intense than the first. She explained that while season one was relatively contained and mild, season two is expansive and packed with content, calling it ‘big’ and ‘bonkers’.
You can watch Sweetpea on Sky and NOW in the UK, and on Starz in the US. Season 2 doesn’t have a release date yet.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page tribute to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
