Return of the Mack Singer Arrested in Florida After Restaurant Altercation
On Saturday night, singer Mark Morrison was taken into custody in Florida, accused of battery following an incident where he is said to have pushed a restaurant manager.
50-year-old music sensation from Britain, whose popular song was released in 1996, reportedly burst into Le Bar à Vin in Palm Beach and began shouting and swearing at the restaurant’s manager, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.
Onlookers asserted that Morrison, allegedly angered by a planned event at Le Bar on Friday and seemingly upset about it, shoved the manager, Nicola Lavacca, in the upper part of his body. However, Lavacca chose not to retaliate.
According to the report, a bystander intervened, split up the duo, and instructed Morrison to leave the area. Subsequently, Morrison was taken into custody for alleged simple battery.
A photograph published shows Morrison, wearing a black shirt, shorts, and bright yellow sneakers, being handcuffed outside the restaurant.
He was released on Sunday morning after posting $1,000 bond.

The court date is scheduled for April 15 at the courthouse in West Palm Beach, Florida (Palm Beach County Courthouse), as stated in documents we acquired from the Palm Beach Daily News.
Dailymail.com has contacted Morrison’s representative for comment.
In 1996, Morrison scored a top UK hit with “Return of the Mack,” which later reached the second spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1997. This song became one of the iconic tracks symbolizing ’90s R&B music.
However he faced a slew of legal woes along the way.
Back in 1997, he was sentenced to prison for three months due to his attempt to carry a gun onto an airplane.
That same year saw the release of his first album, “Return of the Mack.” The record featured tracks such as “Crazy” and “Let’s Get Down,” but neither quite reached the level of success achieved by “Return of the Mack.
Mark Morrison’s “Return of the Mack” reached platinum status in the U.S., selling approximately 1.4 million copies, while achieving double-platinum success in the UK, with around 1.8 million units sold.
It was ranked number 318 in Billboard’s 500 Best Pop Songs of All Time in 2023.

Back in 1998, he skipped a scheduled court hearing concerning allegations about illegally holding a threatening item. Instead, he chose to visit Barbados. Upon his return to the United Kingdom, authorities apprehended him and detained him. Eventually, the accusation of possessing an offensive weapon was dropped against him.
In that particular year, he spent twelve months behind bars due to the fact that he had someone who resembled him complete his court-mandated community service, which was a requirement after his sentencing for affray. This affray was a result of a fight that he was involved in, which unfortunately led to one person’s death.
Apart from that, he was given a six-month suspension on his driver’s license and fined £1,380 following two instances of unlicensed driving.
While he was serving time in prison, it is said that Morrison embraced Islam and endeavored to adopt the name Abdul Rahman.
Back in 2002, there were allegations against him involving kidnapping and burglary. It was suspected that a police officer had accepted a bribe from a musician, which facilitated the accused’s release on bail. However, when it was time for his court appearance, he didn’t show up, leading to an arrest warrant being issued against him.
2004 saw him being taken into custody after a scuffle that resulted in the theft of a platinum and diamond pendant from around his neck, which occurred at a nightclub in Leicester.
He now owns two multi million dollar homes in Florida.
He established the MackLife record label as part of an effort to reduce youth crime by promoting the Drop the Knife, Pick up the Mic campaign.
