Aniplex Inc. announced that their new survival horror strategy game, Resident Evil Survival Unit, will be available on Android and iOS devices starting November 18th. Players could sign up for pre-registration back in July when the game was first revealed, and it had a limited release in some areas this September.

For fans of Resident Evil, get ready for something new! Resident Evil Survival Unit, created with JOYCITY Corporation, brings a unique blend of horror and strategy to mobile gaming. You’ll play as a survivor in the Resident Evil world, experiencing a different kind of adventure.

The game is set after a mysterious infection quickly wiped out a city. You’ll establish a base around an old, abandoned mansion, fixing it up and gathering resources. You’ll need to carefully manage your defenses, research, and a team of survivors to stay alive – it really makes you think strategically to succeed.

Players can recruit, assign roles, and even survive together with other groups

Every character has different skills in fighting, collecting resources, and using technology, so putting them in the right roles is crucial for staying alive. It’s exciting to see returning characters like Leon, Claire, and Jill, but I’m really looking forward to meeting new groups of survivors. I especially enjoy games that give you the choice to team up with or compete against others.

I’ve been a fan of the Resident Evil series since I was young, though I haven’t played every game. This new story, which the developers say goes beyond what fans expect, is a compelling reason to revisit the series. While I hoped for something even more ambitious from such a popular franchise, the gameplay – including defending against enemies in real-time, customizing weapons, and fighting dangerous creatures – still looks fun.

Resident Evil Survival Unit will be available on Android and iOS starting November 18th. You can sign up now to be notified when the game launches on the Google Play Store or App Store. Unfortunately, players in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Brunei, and Mongolia will need to wait until early 2026 to play.
