Based on the recent ESRB rating for last month’s Resident Evil 6 on current-gen consoles, it seems likely that Resident Evil 5 could be next, as the 2009 game has now received an ESRB rating for the Xbox Series X|S.
Originally released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Resident Evil 5 and 6 are now set to appear on a new generation of consoles – the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Interestingly, these games had previously been upgraded and re-released for Xbox One and PS4 back in 2016.
It’s important to mention that the 2016 versions of these games can be played on your Xbox Series X|S and PS5 due to backwards compatibility. This means it might be reasonable to anticipate that future editions of Resident Evil 5 and 6 will come with some significant improvements or enhancements that make them worth purchasing.
The company, Capcom, hasn’t said anything about the Mature rating for Resident Evil 5, but with such a rating being mentioned, it seems like something significant might be going on behind the scenes.
