HOWLYO GAME, the creators of Anchor Panic, have announced their latest game, Renegade Immortal, an idle RPG now available for pre-registration on Android. The game is based on a popular Chinese animated series that won Anime of the Year and garnered 3.46 billion views in 2025. Information about an iOS release or worldwide launch hasn’t been announced yet.

Wuxia and cultivation stories are becoming incredibly popular, as shown by the recent success of games like Where Winds Meet and Heavenly Dragon Saga. I’m especially excited about the new mobile RPG based on Renegade Immortal – it seems to be a really faithful adaptation of the original story, with all the beloved characters and iconic moments.

This story follows Wang Lin, starting with his childhood in Zhao Country, and his adventures through the Cloudsea Realm and the Ancient God Land. You’ll encounter many characters along the way, and fans of cute, miniature designs (chibi) will be excited to see favorites like Teng Huayuan and Li Muwan reimagined in this style.

I’d prefer it if the game focused more on action-RPG gameplay and didn’t have any unnecessary downtime. That being said, it’s still enjoyable, and dedicated fans will likely appreciate the four factions, six classes, unique gameplay mechanics, strong social features, cute characters, and everything else it offers. I’m looking forward to its worldwide release.
