Renée Zellweger’s boyfriend Ant Anstead gushes over the Oscar winner: ‘The greatest human I’ve ever met’

Renée Zellweger’s boyfriend gushed over the actress in a recent interview. 

46-year-old Ant Anstead affectionately calls his long-term companion, aged 56, “the missus,” and in an interview promoting the second season of his series “Born Mechanic,” he showered her with heartfelt compliments.

In an interview with Hello!,  the TV personality opened up about his love for the Judy star. 

He shared with the publication that one reason he finds Ren appealing is because she’s very involved in cars, demonstrating a passion for automobiles.

The pair met when Zellweger was a guest on Anstead’s previous show, Celebrity IOU Joyride. 

‘It’s really cool that we met on a car show. She welded – I mean, how cool is that?’ he asked. 

In the second season of Born Mechanic, the host plans to buy, refurbish, and resell vintage automobiles with the earnings intended for restoring a 500-year-old farmstead that he acquired for his parents.

He revealed the Cold Mountain actress has had a hand in that too.

He remarked about the Chicago celebrity, saying, “She’s had a substantial impact in this area; she’s extremely skilled at architectural design.” He continued, “Given that I admit my abilities in home design are not up to her level of expertise, it’s only natural for me to seek advice from someone more proficient than myself.

‘I am constantly being advised, because she’s the greatest human I’ve ever met,’ he said.  

Back in May, I was practically glued to my screen as the Daily Mail broke the news that Chris Anstead and Renee Zellweger had been going their separate ways for a while now, all because of his financial woes. It’s like a nail-biting drama unfolding right before my eyes!

It emerged back then that the TV host successfully transitioned the Radford Motors’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing from October 2024 into a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, offering potential relief as reported by People.

It wasn’t quite evident how that situation could unfold, given that Chapter 7 typically involves a company selling off its assets instead of continuing operations.

The business is dealing with legal issues as partners file lawsuits over accusations of poor management, and some past customers have also taken action in court, asserting that despite paying substantial deposits, they never received the high-end custom vehicles they ordered from the company.

Since the beginning of their relationship in 2021, it appears that the couple has not been spotted in public together after early March, where they were photographed cheering for Anstead’s young son at a soccer match.

Instead of living in an expensive mansion in upscale Laguna Beach, California, Anstead has chosen a more modest and budget-friendly home, suitable for him and his six-year-old son, Hudson.

The camera-shy Zellweger was not seen in any photos of videos from the party. 

The TV host shares the boy with ex-wife Christina Haack, 42.

Both shared photos and videos from the birthday party on social media Sunday. 

Apart from being a parent, Anstead is also the father of adults Amelie (age 21) and Archie (age 19), who he shares with his former spouse Louise Storey.

When she’s not working, it is said that Zellweger resides in Southern California during her free time, as she is set to feature in season five of Only Murders in the Building.

Living in the South of California, specifically close to San Diego, the private actress shared during a January interview with British Vogue, as her fellow and his young son reside there as well.
