Renee Zellweger returns once more to embody the cherished figure of Bridget Jones, a role that has not only captivated audiences but also imparted valuable lessons to her in real life.
In the novel “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” we find Bridget at a new stage in her life. Four years have passed since the tragic demise of her husband, Mark Darcy, during a humanitarian endeavor in Sudan. Now, Bridget is a widow and a mother of two children.
However, bolstered by her closest companions including ex-beau Daniel Cleaver (portrayed by Hugh Grant), Bridget reenters the dating world. And true to form for Bridget Jones, nothing ever seems to go smoothly – a characteristic that Zellweger finds delightful.
Zellweger shared with Digital Spy that many people find her relatable. She stated that she is inspired by her, as she is genuinely herself, and despite her frequent self-analysis, she is not overly self-conscious.

She rarely concerns herself with her appearance. Her untidy nature is acceptable, and making mistakes is fine as well.
Despite the occasional flaws in her planning, she manages to come out on top. Isn’t she an inspiring figure? I certainly think so.
It’s been over eight years since “Bridget Jones’s Baby” hit the screens, and even though Zellweger’s accent aids in portraying Bridget once more, there’s another crucial element of the pre-production process that allows her to reconnect with the character.
Relocating to London proves beneficial, and as we delve into the rehearsals with the entire group assembled, she gradually makes her presence known.

In a nutshell, the latest film is being referred to as the concluding part of the Bridget Jones saga; however, it’s worth noting that Renee Zellweger has hinted that it may not mark the ultimate end.
She expressed her hope that author Helen Fielding may find inspiration and decide to continue sharing more stories about Bridget in the future, stating that she will always have a connection with the character.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is released in UK cinemas and on Peacock in the US on February 13.
