Okay, so here’s the latest buzz: it looks like Renée Zellweger and her partner, Ant Anstead, are facing a lawsuit. Apparently, a woman is claiming she was injured while at a rental property they were using, and she’s taking legal action. It’s always unfortunate to hear about situations like this impacting people, and we’ll be keeping an eye on how it unfolds.
Tracey Bryn Belland is suing a couple after she reportedly fell and was injured at a rental property in Laguna Beach, California, according to TMZ reports from earlier this week.
The lawsuit claims that Ant Anstead, age 46, was the one named on the rental agreement, according to the report.
She claims she was injured during a visit to the house on August 14, 2024.
Zellweger and Anstead, both 56, have responded to claims of Belland’s injuries by stating they weren’t at fault. They argue that Belland’s own carelessness caused her to fall.
The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Zellweger and Anstead for comment.
During the visit, Belland allegedly tripped and suffered a painful fall on the home’s patio.
As a safety and lifestyle expert, I always emphasize the importance of maintaining a hazard-free environment, and this recent case really highlights that. Apparently, a woman is suing, claiming she tripped over a hidden hole that was only partially covered by a rug. This caused her to fall and injure her right knee. It’s a good reminder to check for and address any uneven flooring or potential tripping hazards in your home – even small ones!
From what I understand, Ms. Belland says she was hurt badly enough that she actually had to seek medical attention. It sounds like her injuries were significant, and she needed a doctor’s care because of them.
She stated in her legal documents that she anticipates continued pain from the injury she reported.
Belland is suing for an unknown amount of money and also wants the defendants to pay for her medical bills and other costs resulting from the reported fall.
The lawsuit is complicated by the fact that the homeowner has also been named as a defendant, according to reports.
According to TMZ, the owner then filed his own cross-complaint against Zellweger and Anstead.
The owner says he didn’t do anything to put Belland in danger. He claims Zellweger and Anstead were supposed to let her know about any problems with the building.
Okay, so I’ve been following this closely, and apparently, he’s asking the court to make that famous couple pay if Belland actually wins her case! Like, he wants them to be responsible for any money she might get. It’s just…wow. He’s really going after them, and I’m here for it!
According to TMZ, a source says Renée Zellweger never actually lived in the Laguna Beach house she was reported to have rented.
They claim she secretly kept another house close by, and only Antstead was actually living at the shared property.
They argued that because Zellweger wasn’t listed on the lease, she shouldn’t be held responsible for Belland’s injury.
Zellweger and Anstead began dating in 2021.
