Remnant 2 'Dark Horizon' DLC and Free Boss Rush Mode Coming Later This Month

As a seasoned Remnant 2 player with countless hours under my belt, the announcement of the ‘Dark Horizon’ DLC has filled me with unbridled excitement! The prospect of venturing back to N’Erud and uncovering its secrets is tantalizing. I can almost hear the whirring of robots and the hum of rogue AI in the distance.

Gunfire Games, the developer behind it, has revealed that ‘Remnant 2’s third and concluding DLC, named ‘Dark Horizon’, is set to release towards the end of this current month. Simultaneously, they will introduce a complimentary update featuring a fresh Boss Rush gameplay mode.

In the forthcoming expansion, Dark Horizon, you’ll journey once more to N’Erud, an enigmatic location frozen in time. In this realm, automated farms nurture the soil where ancient life once thrived, while a menacing rogue AI emerges as a danger. Simultaneously, a titanic figure looms over the cityscape, concealing mysteries yet to be revealed.

In this expansion pack, you’ll be introduced to fresh storyline locations known as dungeons. A revamped gliding system will make it simpler and quicker to traverse the overworld, allowing you to decide which regions to explore and how to confront the latest world boss on your terms. The DLC also introduces a new character type called ‘The Warden’, equipped with a Drone weapon capable of both defending, healing, and attacking.

In addition to new weapons, gameplay styles, items, adversaries, and more, the game will also include bosses and creatures. A free update called Boss Rush is also planned, offering both single-player and multiplayer modes. This update includes three levels of difficulty: Triple Threat (a series of three bosses), Trial by Fire (seven bosses), and The Gauntlet (nineteen bosses). Additionally, Boss Rush can be accessed through the World Stone in Ward 13. Prisms are a new feature that will be introduced as part of an updated fragment system. By leveling up these Prisms, players can earn extra stat bonuses.

On September 24th, both the free Boss Rush update and the Dark Horizon expansion pack (retailing at $9.99/£8.49) will be released for Remnant 2 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. These additions follow The Awakened King and The Forgotten Kingdom DLCs, which can be purchased individually or as a bundle for $24.99/£20.99.
