Robin Bailey was reportedly very angry after her canceled show was unexpectedly brought back, and she directly confronted her manager about it during a live broadcast.
I was absolutely thrilled when I heard the news in December! After they unfairly cancelled Robin, Kip, and Corey’s breakfast show on KIIS FM Brisbane back in October, I honestly thought that was it. But then, unbelievably, KIIS FM brought them back! I couldn’t believe my ears – my absolute favourite breakfast team is back on the air! I’m so happy for them, and honestly, so relieved!
The experienced TV host said she was puzzled by the sudden change of heart and questioned CEO Michael Stephenson on Monday, asking if the decision to bring her back was just a publicity move.
This wasn’t a prank or a stunt of any kind. We made a decision at the end of last year, but it turned out to be the wrong one,” Stepho explained.
He then shared the surprising reason ARN changed its mind and decided to bring back the popular presenters in 2026.
When I first started, everyone kept asking about Robin, Kip, and Corey – they were clearly fan favorites! It really made me question our decision, so I reached out to the team in Sydney and asked if we could reconsider. Their response? Apparently, nobody had ever changed course like that before. It was a bit of a roadblock, to say the least!

Robin wasn’t having any of it and directly asked Stephenson if he understood he’d made a foolish mistake by letting them leave.
Okay, so I was listening to this interview, right? And Robin just DROPPED that question on him! It was amazing. He basically said, “You sounded way too prepared, and it took almost two weeks to get to this point… when did you FINALLY realize this was a terrible idea?” Seriously, the way he said “dumb arse decision”? I nearly lost it. It was perfect. I’ve replayed that part like, twenty times already.
Stephenson acknowledged the network had mistakenly cancelled the show at first, but they decided to bring it back after getting a lot of positive responses from viewers.
He explained that radio has a remarkable way of connecting with local communities and cities, and the response to this has been incredibly positive.
Everyone I talked to expressed how much they enjoyed the breakfast team and wanted to see them return. We’ve made a great decision for Brisbane, and the whole team is thrilled to have them back.
ARN announced in October that Robin, Kip & Corey Oates would leave the airwaves by the end of 2025.
In December, ARN rehired the trio in an extraordinary backflip.

A spokesperson said at the time that ARN’s main focus is still providing the programs listeners enjoy, and today’s news demonstrates their dedication to Brisbane audiences.
‘Robin, Kip & Corey are known for their warmth and relatable humour.’
The duo’s natural connection on the air is equaled by their dedication to Brisbane, as they actively support local charities and share stories that connect with listeners throughout the city, they added.
Starting in 2026, the show will be even better, featuring new segments, exciting guests, and ways for viewers to participate. These additions are all designed to highlight what makes Brisbane special and keep your mornings lively and entertaining.
Robin, 55, has since thanked Brisbane listeners for convincing ARN to keep her show on the air.
‘Brissy, you did it! Thank you so much,’ she began.
I’m absolutely thrilled to be back on KIIS973 with Kip and Corey! Honestly, I’m so grateful for the opportunity and for all of you. This whole situation is a first for me – a real comeback, and it wouldn’t be happening without your incredible support.
According to Derek Bargwanna, who leads the KIIS Network, listeners in Brisbane made their preferences known.
Oh my gosh, you guys, Robin, Kip, and Corey get this city, you know? And the way their story ended? It totally felt like they were saying, ‘We’re not gone for good!’ I’m seriously hoping for a reunion, it just felt like the door was left wide open for them to come back!
