Regina Hall is open to returning as Brenda for Scary Movie 6: ‘The band could get back together again’
As a long-time fan of the Scary Movie franchise, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia hearing about Regina Hall‘s excitement for the upcoming sixth installment. Having grown up with Brenda Meeks as my favorite character, I can only imagine the laughter and joy that would ensue if Hall and Anna Faris were to reprise their roles once again.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t hide my excitement about the upcoming “Scary Movie” from the Wayan Brothers! Just like everyone else, actress Regina Hall, who played Brenda in the first four films, is beaming with anticipation. She recently shared with TVInsider that she’s “overjoyed at the prospect of the gang reuniting once more.
She’s particularly elated because the movie is being produced by Keenen Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Marlon Wayans, who are responsible for creating, writing, and directing the initial films in the series. The brothers, Marlon and Shawn, also starred in these early productions. Initially, Hall and Anna Faris were key characters in the first four movies, but they did not participate in Scary Movie 5.
The characters, Brenda and Cindy, are among the most beloved pair from the movie, with fans eagerly anticipating their return. From Hall’s remarks, it appears she is equally thrilled about the upcoming sixth film, curious to discover how Brenda fits into this fresh setting.
It appears that Faris has already expressed her views about another film, mentioning to People Magazine that there are two essential factors for her participation in a sixth movie: the reappearance of Regina Hall and a suitable compensation. In other words, if they manage to secure Hall’s involvement, it seems likely that they could also bring Faris back into the project.
“We would make each other giggle all day long. Regina Hall would be my answer. And money. But mostly all Regina!” – anna faris
For now, Hall shares the latest A&E true crime special titled “Cold Case Files: The Grim Sleeper,” which centers around the story of serial killer Lonnie Franklin Jr.
Marlon Wayans shared on Instagram that a new film project is underway, mentioning it’s been about two decades since the entire original crew collaborated last for a movie. Unlike the fifth “Scary Movie,” which came out in 2013 and wasn’t produced by the Wayans family, this upcoming project promises a reunion of the original team.
