Ava Phillippe turned heads at the Los Angeles premiere of Wuthering Heights on Wednesday, surrounded by other celebrities.
Reese Witherspoon’s daughter showed off a sophisticated style in a black, polka-dot dress. The dress hit just below the knee and featured delicate lace around the neckline and a high slit. She finished the look with black heels.
The 26-year-old actress styled her blonde hair with soft curls that fell just past her shoulders – a look her mother would also likely wear.
Phillippe, the daughter of actor Ryan Phillippe, confidently attended an event alongside stars like Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, who portray Cathy and Heathcliff in the new movie. Cara Delevingne, Scout Willis, and Charli XCX also contributed to the film’s soundtrack, which was created for the movie directed and written by Emerald Fennell.
The rising star, recently seen at many Hollywood events, made a brief appearance on the Netflix series Ransom Canyon. She played a younger version of a character in a ’90s prom flashback, and her hair and purple dress made her look remarkably like her famous mother.
The young actress announced on Instagram last April that her film, ‘Ransom Canyon,’ was now available on Netflix, sharing photos from the movie.
She declared it “The Best Prom Ever” in one post, and shared a picture of her ’90s-inspired hairstyle, complete with butterfly clips and purple butterfly stickers, captioning it, “Gotta love a butterfly clip updo.”
Phillippe is starting her career strong, and will soon be the lead in the movie Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me. The film is adapted from the popular young adult graphic novel by Mariko Tamaki and Rosemary Valero-O’Connell.
Following in her mother’s footsteps, she began her acting career last year with an appearance on the TV show, Doctor Odyssey.
Phillippe has worked with major brands including Ivy Park by Beyoncé, Pat McGrath Labs, and Draper James, founded by her mother. She’s also a global ambassador for Vince Camuto.
Meanwhile, Witherspoon recently credited her illustrious career to ‘anxiety.’
The star, celebrating her 50th birthday on March 22nd, shared with Harper’s Bazaar that her anxiety may have actually contributed to her success. She believes the two are closely linked.
I used to push myself incredibly hard to appear flawless at work. Now I realize that perfection is impossible and unsustainable. While striving for excellence helped me achieve a lot, it came at the cost of significant stress and anxiety, and I essentially was rewarded for being anxious and a perfectionist.
As I get older, I’m finally starting to feel content with who I am. I’ve been incredibly lucky – I’ve had wonderful opportunities in my career and the chance to collaborate with truly amazing people.
Reese Witherspoon has three children: Ava, her 21-year-old son Deacon (with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe), and 12-year-old Tennessee (with ex-husband Jim Toth).
Witherspoon admits that she likes to have direct and open dialogues with her children.
My mom always approached mental health very directly, without making it a sensitive or forbidden topic. She was quite matter-of-fact about it. As a teenager, she’d even initiate conversations about things like sexual activity and birth control. I’ve definitely learned from her to be straightforward and honest.
I naturally tend to explore my children’s thoughts and feelings, and I’ll always ask them the tough questions if I’m worried or something is bothering me.
