It was previously reported by Page Six that Witherspoon and Haarmann were considering a luxury building in New York City, specifically 16 Fifth Avenue, which is in close proximity to Washington Square Park. Notably, this park is also home to New York University. The source mentioned that they were interested in the area, partly because the actress’s son attends school there at NYU.

They’re scoping out the neighborhood since one of her children attends NYU, and Reese wishes to stay nearby. They’ve inspected the apartment on two occasions, showing a warm and loving demeanor during each visit.

It seems quite thoughtful, indeed. As reported by People, Deacon Phillippe, the son of Reese Witherspoon and her former spouse Ryan Phillippe, is currently immersed in his college journey at NYU. So, it’s not hard to believe that Witherspoon looking for apartments near the school might not be a mere coincidence, as the source suggested; rather, she appears to want to stay nearby her children.

Another possible explanation for the couple settling in New York is that Witherspoon’s partner is already established there. His company, Searchlight Capital, has its headquarters in NYC.
