Red Dead Redemption 2 Modder Turns It Into Elden Ring

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring both offer incredibly detailed and captivating open worlds, packed with interesting discoveries around every turn. Despite this, the two games play very differently – one lets you live as a cowboy, while the other is a challenging action RPG known as a ‘Soulslike.’ But what would happen if you combined the best elements of both?

YouTuber Blurbs had a pretty ambitious idea: completely recreate the experience of Elden Ring within Red Dead Redemption 2. He didn’t just add Elden Ring characters or objects; he altered RDR2’s core gameplay to feel like Elden Ring. And to top it all off, he made Uncle the final boss!

A new video, highlighted by GamesRadar, shows Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption wielding a massive sword and using magic spells similar to those in Elden Ring. The game’s interface has even been modified to match, complete with a ‘You Died’ screen when your health runs out. Players can also leave messages for each other, voiced live by viewers in the Twitch chat, much like in the Souls series.

The most impressive part of this surprising combination is the final boss battle. It’s a scene-for-scene copy of the last boss in Elden Ring, but featuring a character named Uncle. To create this epic fight, the developers had to build a huge, yellow tree modeled after the Erdtree, and they say it was the most challenging part of the whole project. The battle against Uncle of the Drunken Order takes place inside this massive tree.

No boss fight is complete without a second stage, and in this mod, it’s called ‘The Lumbago Beast.’ The creator and his team found it particularly challenging to design.

This impressive mod isn’t available for download just yet, but it has a lot of potential. Combining elements of Elden Ring with Red Dead Redemption 2 would likely be a hit with fans of both games, though the creator still needs some time to finish it.
