Red Dead Redemption 2 is starting 2026 with fresh, limited-time missions and rewards for its online mode, which hasn’t received much attention lately. It’s not the major next-gen update fans have been hoping for, but it’s a great reason to revisit one of the most impressive open-world games ever made.

Look, GTA Online is still killing it with huge updates that actually feel like they’re adding to the GTA 5 story, but Red Dead Online has always felt a bit left behind. Still, there’s always something to do in the Wild West, and January 2026 is proving that again. It’s cool to see they haven’t forgotten about us!

Red Dead Redemption 2 Online January DLC Is Available Now

Hey everyone, just letting you know that from January 6th to February 2nd, Rockstar’s giving us a bunch of new stuff to do in Red Dead Online! I logged in and found some brand-new missions and rewards, plus a load of limited-time items and bounties. There’s also a few other cool surprises thrown in, so definitely check it out if you play!

Over the next month, you can get three times the rewards – RDO$, Role XP, and general XP – for completing Regular Bounties. Legendary and Infamous Bounties will give you double the RDO$, Gold, and XP.

So, if I manage to actually finish a Legendary Bounty, I can snag the Harshaw Gauntlets. And good news for other dedicated bounty hunters – if you’re Rank 25 or higher and play this month, you can also unlock the Clairborn Coat. Honestly, it’s not the massive update we were hoping for, but hey, I’ll take what I can get!

Here are all the weekly rewards for the month:

  • January 6 – 12: Complete three Bounty Missions to receive a Reward for the San Luis Shore Treasure Map
  • January 13 – 19: Complete all your Bounty Hunter Daily Challenges to receive an Offer for 40% off an Established or Distinguished Bounty Hunter Role Item
  • January 20 – 26: Complete three Bounty Missions to receive an Offer for 50% off a Weapon
  • January 27 – February 2: Players Rank 50 or Higher can log in to receive the beige Torranca Coat

Over the next few weeks, Wheeler, Rawson & Co. is adding some special, limited-time clothing to their catalog. Keep an eye out for the Gator Hat, Strickland Boots, Tied Pants, Irwin Coat, Clymene Coat, and Shaffer Chaps!

For some competitive action, check out the Manhunt or Day of Reckoning events! Both are offering triple the usual RDO$ and XP until February 2nd. Plus, just for participating in either event at any point this month, you’ll receive a unique charm.

Many players are eagerly awaiting the next-gen update for Red Dead Redemption 2, and it’s starting to seem like it might finally arrive this year. If you can’t wait for the update, Red Dead Online can still be a great experience when played with friends – maybe it’s time to give it a try!
