The series titled “The Forsytes,” featuring Millie Gibson from “Doctor Who,” has already secured a second season, prior to the broadcast of its initial season.
The forthcoming series is adapted from John Galsworthy’s novel series, focusing on the lives of the affluent titled family. In the backdrop of 1880s London, this drama unfolds a tale encompassing themes of “love, loyalty, aspiration, and deceit”.
Following its acquisition in March by 5, it’s now official that “The Forsytes” will continue past its initial season. According to Deadline, this captivating period drama has already secured a renewal for a second season.
Additionally, it is said that Richard Rankin, Sarah Alexander, and Nia Ashi have joined the already impressive cast for the upcoming second season. Filming for the new episodes is currently taking place in Bristol.
Before the initial episode of “The Forsytes” series airs, there have been recent updates about it. Although it’s been mentioned that the series will debut in the UK by the end of the year, a specific release date is probably forthcoming soon.

In the period drama, Gibson, who plays Irene, is joined on screen by Joshua Orpin, Francesca Annis, Jack Davenport, Stephen Moyer, Tuppence Middleton, and Eleanor Tomlinson. The novels of Galsworthy are being adapted for the series by Debbie Horsfield.
(This version tries to maintain the original structure while using simpler words and more natural phrasing.)
In this summary, traditional and esteemed elders of the Forsyte clan value duty and honor above everything, while their younger counterparts challenge the strict family norms. Beneath the surface lies a struggle between adhering to old traditions (represented by the ‘head’) and embracing change or personal desires (symbolized by the ‘heart’).

Previously, the works of Galsworthy were transformed into a two-season television production by ITV during the years 2002 and 2003. Notably, the series titled The Forsyte Saga showcased Gina McKee and Damian Lewis in the main roles of Irene and Soames.
2002’s series was praised as “perfect in all aspects” by an IMDb user, who considered it one of their top-rated productions. Another spectator found the historical drama to be “hard to pull away from”, using the term “compelling”.
The Forsytes does not yet have a release date.
