Reboot of classic ’00s show adds two Mayans MC stars

The upcoming reboot of Prison Break has announced four new cast members.

In the year 2023, it became known that the beloved television series from the 00s would be making a comeback. This reboot takes place within the same fictional universe as the initial show, but introduces fresh personalities.

Earlier this month, the casting of Emily Browning (from The Affair), Lukas Gage (Euphoria) and Drake Rodger (The Winchesters) as main characters marked a significant step forward in the project.

As reported by Deadline, the actors Clayton Cardenas, JR Bourne, Georgie Flores from Dumplin, and Myles Bullock from BMF have all been added to the main cast of Mayans MC.

In the narrative, Cardenas is now set to portray Ghost – a formidable and lethal inmate residing in one of America’s most perilous penitentiaries.

Bullock assumes the role of a convict named Darius ‘Red’ Lewis at the penitentiary, while Bourne is set to portray Junior, a mentally troubled solitary figure who survived an old prison break catastrophe that left the town in ruins.

Ultimately, Flores steps into the role of Andrea, one of the trainees who are women preparing to become corrections officers within the penitentiary.

Previously, Browning was chosen for the role of ex-soldier-turned-prison guard, Cassidy Collins. On the other hand, Gage will portray Jackson, a politically ambitious character hailing from a wealthy background who is embarking on his inaugural congressional campaign.

Rodger landed the role of an inmate called Tommy, who has been in prison for a decade.

Details about the storyline are being kept secret for the moment, but by the end of 2024, the show had been given the green light for a pilot episode.

According to Elgin James, the co-creator of Mayans MC, the upcoming reboot will likely exclude original characters Michael Scofield, portrayed by Wentworth Miller, and Lincoln Burrows, played by Dominic Purcell.

The remake of Prison Break hasn’t announced its launch date yet, but you can stream all five seasons of the original series on Netflix currently.
