Rebel Wilson reveals she’s suffered second family tragedy just months after the heartbreaking loss of her beloved grandfather

Over the weekend, Rebel Wilson paid a heartfelt tribute to her cherished grandma who passed away at the age of 95.

45-years-old individual shared a heartrending declaration, accompanied by an Instagram video montage featuring pictures of her grandmother, relatives, and spouse Ramona Agruma.

Farewell to my extraordinary Grandma Gar, truly the greatest grandmother anyone could ask for,” the star from Pitch Perfect started off in a long post.

She died at the age of 95. Her preferred film was The Wizard of Oz, as she had been forbidden by her father from watching it when she was a child due to being mischievous. However, many years later, she was finally allowed to see it.

She once maintained a scrapbook filled with news articles about my career, as she was incredibly proud of me. Last night, while being transported to the hospital, she shared stories about me with the paramedics – reminiscing about her luxurious trip on the Queen Mary, which I had gifted her during my early success in Hollywood.

At age 11, she brought my sister and me to the United States. That week stands out as one of the most remarkable in my lifetime. We shared an unforgettable experience with her when we convinced her to ride Space Mountain at Disneyland, telling her it wasn’t too frightening. To our amusement, she screamed from start to finish while tightly clutching the safety rails!

The Rebel continued, “It brings me joy that her final significant event was our wedding at the Opera House. She adored tennis matches, musical performances, and neenish tarts, yet what she cherished above all were her family – her kids, grandkids, and now even great-grandchildren.

‘She has left us with an extraordinary heritage. In the past, she ran a hair salon, which was quite rare for women as many did not own businesses at that time.’

She faced countless hardships throughout her life, yet remained compassionate and gentle. To me, she embodies the grace and dignity of a queen, and I wear her noble surname of Elizabeth with honor. At this deeply saddening moment, I express my deep love for you, Gar, as well as to all our family members.

The loss comes just months after Rebel’s grandfather died at the age of 97 in December.

On Instagram at that moment, Rebel posted a picture with her elderly relative, captioning it as, ‘Farewell Poppy – 97 years full of life. The greatest grandpa!’

In December, during their second wedding in Australia, Rebel’s grandmother had the privilege of witnessing Rebel marrying her partner, Ramona.

The actress publicly announced their marriage on Instagram, posting a collection of pictures featuring the couple following their official union in her birthplace.

As a die-hard fan bursting with excitement, let me share this heartwarming tidbit: I had the privilege of witnessing the union of my idol, Rebel, who happens to be my favorite star. What made it even more special was the presence of her sister Liberty, officiating the ceremony. It was an intimate affair, graced by their dearest family and friends, making it a truly unforgettable event for those lucky enough to be part of it.

‘My sister Liberty officiated our legal wedding in Sydney!’ she wrote at the time.

Her being able to join us was extremely meaningful, as including my 94-year-old grandma Gar made the occasion even more special. It seemed fitting that we celebrated this moment in my hometown during such a beautiful season.

Last year on September 28th, Rebel and Ramona got married in Sardinia, Italy, with little Royce serving as their adorable flower girl.

In the idyllic setting of Porto Cervo, Sardinia, the ideal fairy tale location, the couple chose to declare their vows, having recently made their relationship public on Instagram in 2022, just a few days prior.

It’s been reported that the actress from “The Bridesmaids” and her partner had planned a beach wedding for the year 2025, but it seems Rebel opted to bring the wedding date forward.

The couple first met in 2021 and announced their engagement in February 2023.
