According to reports, Charlotte MacInnes, the main actress from Rebel Wilson‘s movie “The Deb,” is apparently taking legal action against Rebel Wilson for making alleged false claims about her involving inappropriate behavior of a sexual nature.
Wilson, aged 45, alleged that producers Vincent Holden, Gregor Cameron, and Amanda Ghost exhibited inappropriate behavior towards MacInnes. However, both MacInnes and the producers have refuted these claims.
MacInnes is currently filing a lawsuit against Wilson, alleging that she initially made complaints regarding unwanted sexual advances by a producer, but later amended her account to secure a different position.
In September 2024, Charlotte firmly disputed any claims of inappropriate conduct. This led Rebel to suggest that the actress retracted her allegations in order to secure a new job opportunity from one of the producers.
MacInnes stated to DailyMail.com back then: ‘The claims against me are unfounded. I issued a statement to the film crew when this was first mentioned in September 2023, and I’m saying it now to put an end to it. Spreading false accusations harms genuine victims, and I refuse to be part of a fictional storyline.’
Following collaboration with producer Amanda on the play ‘The Deb’, Charlotte was subsequently chosen by her to portray the character Daisy, in Florence Welch’s musical adaptation of ‘Gatsby: An American Myth’, during its pre-Broadway performance at Boston’s A.R.T.
According to documents submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court, as reported by The Guardian in November 2024, MacInnes asserted that she communicated to Wilson that she had not experienced any instances of sexual harassment by Amanda Ghost.
Although Charlotte asserted that she told Wilson there was no harassment involved, the actress from Pitch Perfect nonetheless presented allegations of inappropriate behavior against her.
According to MacInnes, he found Wilson’s conduct highly unsettling, as Wilson held a leadership role for the film project and had power over him.
In addition, Wilson finds herself entangled in a law court dispute with the producers following accusations of wrongdoing and theft on her part. As retaliation, they have brought forth a lawsuit alleging defamation against her.
The legal action alleges that the Australian actor made baseless and disrespectful remarks concerning them, which encompassed allegations of improper behavior towards MacInnes.
Simultaneously, another legal action initiated by the makers of her first directorial movie was brought to light in Australia about a month ago.
According to The Australian, Holden, Cameron, and Ghost assert that Wilson unfairly implicated them in allegations of misusing the movie’s finances and behaving improperly toward MacInnes.
In addition to various legal issues, Wilson is facing a lawsuit in U.S. courts, instigated by three producers who claim that she has made damaging statements (defamation), engaged in dishonest business practices (injurious falsehood, misleading and deceptive conduct), breached contractual obligations, and violated her duties as a director.

They additionally claimed that Wilson attempted to intimidate the Australian distributor of the movie titled Kismet, by pursuing a court order to prevent its screening.
Last month on Instagram, Wilson expressed a detailed post, characterizing the legal actions initiated by producers Vince Holden, Gregor Cameron, and Amanda Ghost in the NSW Supreme Court as “petty and harmful conduct.
‘Apparently I’m being sued in Australia?’ she began the scathing gallery of Stories.
As the one who has dedicated five long years, in the roles of director, producer, and co-star, to nurture a project called ‘The Deb’ from a simple three-page concept into a stunning feature film, I can’t express enough my desire to see this movie released. I’ve been putting in countless hours of effort behind the scenes to make it happen.
‘To say otherwise is complete nonsense. I’m so proud of the film!’ she continued.
According to me, the behavior exhibited by Amanda Ghost, Gregor Cameron, and Vince Holden towards the UK-funded project appears to be persistent bullying and harassment.
In an attempt to delay the premiere, they made efforts but were unsuccessful. Currently, they are trying to halt the film’s release due to a groundless lawsuit in the U.S., followed by another in Australia.
Wilson emphasized that it was crucial for the movie to be distributed, and he expressed regret as he contemplated the wasted effort of numerous Australians involved in its production.

According to their contractual agreement, they hold the authority to sell or distribute the movie. However, they haven’t chosen to do so, as stated in her writing.
A full year has passed since the movie was finished and prepared for theater release. Yet, it seems that, according to me, they’ve persisted with their unpleasant, harmful actions instead.
Afterward, Wilson disclosed that the inaugural track from the film carries the title “Life’s a Struggle” and plans to make it available for her followers to enjoy since, if they won’t release the movie, she might as well.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but reiterate my concerns I previously voiced towards Ghost, Cameron, and Holden – matters they’ve since refuted. These allegations have found their way into not one, but two defamation lawsuits they’ve filed against the sensational Pitch Perfect star. However, it’s important to note that these are just accusations at this point, and I eagerly await the unfolding of events for a clearer understanding.
Wilson has been very vocal on the conflicts surrounding her stalled film The Deb.
Daily Mail has contacted Rebel Wilson’s representatives for comment.
