Rebel Wilson COUNTERSUES  producers of her new film The Deb after she was hit with defamation lawsuit

As a seasoned observer of the dynamic world of Hollywood, I find myself deeply troubled by the ongoing saga between Rebel Wilson and Amanda Ghost, Cameron Gregor, and Vince Holden. Having spent my formative years in the industry, I’ve seen firsthand how power dynamics can be twisted and manipulated, often to the detriment of young, aspiring talents like Bella MacInnes.

In a dramatic shift, the court dispute between Rebel Wilson and the producers of her film The Deb has escalated. Rebel, an Australian comedian, has responded by filing a lawsuit against them. She hinted to DailyMail.com that this is merely the beginning, saying, “This is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s much more to uncover.

44-year-old Wilson faced a lawsuit in July, initiated by producers Amanda Ghost, Gregory Cameron, and Vince Holden, who accused her of making false claims that they had misappropriated film funds and exhibited cruel and retaliatory conduct.

The recently married individual faced allegations of harassment and making false claims about Ghost for inappropriate conduct toward the movie’s leading actress – a fact that had earlier been disclosed by DailyMail.com, identifying the actress as Charlotte MacInnes, aged 25.

Newly acquired court documents reveal that Wilson is continuing her legal battle against the producers and has retaliated with a countersuit. This countersuit alleges that the producers illegally embezzled approximately $900,000 AUD ($620,000 USD, £467,351 GBP) by artificially inflating the film’s budget.

Additionally, Wilson asserts that Ghost similarly made misleading assurances to win her cooperation, such as offering a writing credit and recording deal that never came through, and coerced her into signing agreements under the threat of damaging her professional standing if she refused.

Additionally, she alleges that Cameron, Ghost’s spouse, used ‘intimidation in a physical sense.’ Furthermore, she asserts that both Cameron and his wife collaborated to ‘threaten’ the movie.

Beyond that, the lawsuit, recently filed in Los Angeles, accuses Ghost of a pattern of unethical actions, such as appropriating the intellectual property of British singer James Blunt. This is alleged to have occurred through claims of co-writing the hit song ‘You’re Beautiful’, and subsequently obtaining partial ownership of the track.

As stated in the lawsuit, it is alleged that during his tenure as president at Epic Records, Ghost treated both Colombian superstar Shakira and American singer Sara Bareilles similarly.

Additionally, Wilson reinforced his earlier claims that McInnes experienced sexual harassment from Ghost, despite the 25-year-old publicly stating otherwise via a declaration made to DailyMail.com.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share the assertion made in this lawsuit: During the preparatory stages of the Movie, I was utterly shocked and disturbed to discover that the principal actress, Charlotte MacInnes, had been subjected to sexual harassment by none other than Ghost, prior to filming.

As a fervent admirer, I’ve uncovered some fascinating tidbits! Wilson exposed an intriguing tale: Ghost compelled MacInnes to dwell in her luxurious Bondi Beach penthouse with her. To add to the intrigue, it was disclosed that Ghost shared intimate moments like showers and baths with MacInnes – a situation MacInnes confessed left her uneasy. Moreover, whispers on set suggested Ghost made explicit amorous comments towards MacInnes.

Significantly, Deborah Kerr (The Deb) made her debut as a professional film actor at the age of 24 in that movie, while David Niven (Ghost) was more than twice her age, being 50 years old.

Furthermore, the unacceptable and sexually inappropriate actions directed at MacInnes by Ghost led to a mental collapse on her part.

According to a spokesperson for Wilson, Amanda Ghost, Cameron Gregor, and Vince Holden tried to distort the truth by carelessly lodging an extravagant lawsuit.

‘Their real problem? Only a fraction of their outrageous conduct has been revealed thus far.

Instead of trying to divert attention from the situation, they failed to anticipate that such a move could prompt Rebel Wilson to counter-sue. This cross-complaint, in turn, exposes a multitude of their questionable behaviors, several of which have been witnessed by numerous people.

It’s not surprising that several courageous individuals have stepped up, sharing their experiences with Amanda Ghost. Unfortunately, this is consistent with what we expected.

‘Stay tuned, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There is much more to come.’

Since July, there has been an ongoing verbal dispute between the production team of Wilson and the legal team of ‘The Deb’, following the initial lawsuit that the trio filed against her.

Wilson has frequently criticized Ghost, Gregor, and Holden on social media platforms, expressing frustration to his followers after the initial lawsuit was filed: “It’s not considered defamation if it’s the TRUTH (the ‘producers’ I mentioned in my previous post have just filed a defamation suit against me…)

Previously, she referred to them as “abhorrent” and “reprehensible,” alleged they exhibited poor conduct, and brought up allegations of fraudulent activities.

The plot revolves around the musical comedy “The Deb,” where we follow the tale of farm girl Taylah Simpkins and her urban relative Maeve, both on a quest to find suitable escorts for an approaching dance event.

Last month, Wilson’s directorial debut, the movie, premiered for the first time at the Toronto Film Festival.

In the legal dispute between Gregor and Holden, and Wilson, allegations have been made that he engaged in harassing conduct and unjustified requests, along with falsifying the account regarding McInnes.

Additionally, they claim that Wilson presents an inflated public image and tends to be adaptable with facts.

The complaint reads: ‘For years, Rebel has played the affable funny girl on the big screen and, off screen, portrayed herself as a champion of other female artists and whistleblower against abusive conduct within the film industry.

‘Despite her public image, she’s actually a façade. In reality, she behaves like a bully, often putting her own needs above those of others.’
