Rebel Wilson breaks her silence on bombshell claim lead actress on her movie The Deb was ‘sexually harassed in shower’ by female producer

Rebel Wilson recently revealed that the lead actress in her new movie, ‘The Deb,’ was sexually harassed by the film’s producer.

Australian actress, 45, revealed on the 60 Minutes program Sunday night that 26-year-old Charlotte MacInnes experienced inappropriate behavior from producer Amanda Ghost, 51, while showering.

Rebel explained that as director, she was obligated to make the report, and that’s when the retaliatory actions against her began.

Rebel Wilson said that after swimming in the cold water at Bondi Beach, she went to take a warm shower. She then invited the lead actress, MacInnes, to join her, and the details of what happened next are contested between Rebel and the other women involved.

Rebel said that Charlotte MacInnes told her Amanda Ghost had asked her to share a bath and shower, which made her feel very uncomfortable.

She absolutely told me that. She came forward with what seemed like a complaint about sexual harassment.

MacInnes and Ghost both state that nothing unpleasant occurred and disagree with Rebel’s account of what happened.

In a statement, MacInnes said they never told Ms. Wilson, or anyone else, that Ms. Ghost had ever made them feel uncomfortable or caused them any emotional distress.

Rebel addressed accusations that she started an online effort to damage Ghost’s reputation. This followed the appearance of several websites containing damaging claims about the producer.

Rebel stated she had absolutely no involvement with the websites, explaining she doesn’t know how to build one and wasn’t responsible for its content.

Like many others in the industry, I saw the report, but I absolutely had no involvement in it.

Rebel Wilson firmly denied accusations that she asked her publicist to build websites spreading false and damaging information about someone. She stated, ‘That is absolutely untrue.’

I checked out the websites and found the information really interesting. I may have even talked about it with my friends,” Rebel said.

The actress involved in a legal dispute with Wilson and the filmmakers of ‘The Deb’ has publicly denied his accusations that he was sexually harassed during filming.

In July 2024, producers Amanda Ghost, Gregory Cameron, and Vince Holden filed a lawsuit against Rebel, claiming she falsely accused them of stealing money from the film and acted with extreme malice and revenge.

Rebel has filed a countersuit alleging the film’s producers deliberately harmed the project, stole money, and sexually harassed the lead actor.

According to court documents filed in Los Angeles and reviewed by The Guardian, MacInnes stated she told the film’s director, Wilson, that the producer, Ghost, never sexually harassed her.

Even after telling Wilson that this hadn’t happened before, she supposedly still claimed Ghost had sexually harassed and abused MacInnes.

MacInnes claimed she was very upset by Wilson’s actions, explaining that as the film’s director, he held power over her.

I couldn’t have led Wilson to believe I was reporting wrongdoing, simply because nothing improper had occurred.

I’m aware of allegations that I faced inappropriate and disturbing sexual requests. There are also claims that MacInnes is being held against her will by Ghost and another producer, Cameron, and is being moved between cities like Boston, New York, and London with them.

These claims are entirely untrue and ridiculous. I’m baffled as to why Wilson and her lawyer would fabricate such stories about me.

The creators of the podcast ‘The Deb’ are suing comedian Deborah Frances-White for defamation, arguing her accusations are made up and completely untrue.

She’s been accused of bullying and wrongly claiming that Ghost acted inappropriately towards MacInnes. In a defamation lawsuit, Ghost stated that the actress denied any such behavior when questioned about Wilson’s allegations.

As a longtime fan, I was shocked to learn about the drama surrounding ‘The Deb’! Apparently, things started falling apart because of disagreements over who should get credit for the writing, and there were also issues with Wilson’s conduct on set. DailyMail.com actually got a hold of the legal complaint, which details everything. It’s really sad to hear this happened, especially since the film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival just last year.
