Rebecca Morse and Mark Soderstrom's SAFM Breakfast show replacements revealed after their shock exit

As someone who has spent countless mornings waking up to Bec & Soda’s infectious energy and camaraderie, I must admit their sudden exit left a void that was hard to fill. However, upon learning about Bernie Vince and Emma Georgiadis taking over the reins of SAFM Breakfast, my excitement is palpable!

On Friday, it was revealed who would be taking over for Rebecca Morse and Mark Soderstrom following their unexpected departure from the SAFM Breakfast show, previously known as Bec & Soda.

Beginning Monday, November 11, the former AFL player Bernie Vince (age 39) and seasoned radio host Emma Georgiadis will debut their new show titled “Bernie & Emma G.

In a statement, Southern Cross Austereo shared the news, assuring listeners they would encounter captivating discussions, amusing anecdotes, and continue to maintain a lively atmosphere throughout their morning programming.

Audience members will enjoy an entertaining broadcast full of hearty laughs, friendly jests, and unexpected amusement, all courtesy of the lively camaraderie between the hosts.

Both Bernie and Emma are Adelaide natives who have a background in radio presenting.

The former Adelaide Crows player shared his excitement over his shock new career move.

‘SAFM Breakfast alongside my mate Emma G, how exciting!’ he said.

She’s outstanding, and I’m eagerly looking forward to diving into this fantastic chance that allows us to construct something novel together.

“I’m equally excited as you are about South Australia, and broadcasting some enjoyable radio content! I can hardly wait to share a sneak peek of our 2025 pre-season broadcasts with you!

Meanwhile, Emma G added she was delighted to be working alongside her long-term friend.

Emma, who is deeply fond of Adelaide, expressed great enthusiasm about being on the radio once more in her beloved hometown, on the very station she cherished listening to as a child,” she shared.

In a more relaxed and conversational manner, the sentence could be rephrased as follows: ‘Bern is electric and an absolute joy to collaborate with. I’m really looking forward to starting each day alongside Adelaide!’

Their program will be broadcast on weekdays from 6am – 9am.

The latest update follows the announcement made earlier this week by Mark Soderstrom, co-host of Bec and Soda, who is 54 years old, that he was departing the show promptly to address challenging personal issues.

Later on, Rebecca informed everyone that her contract with SAFM was not extended, which means she will also be resigning.

Rebecca shared on social media that she learned on Tuesday her contract wouldn’t be extended, but was given the option to work through the rest of the week instead.

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself compelled to share a personal reflection. Regrettably, the sequence of circumstances left me emotionally unready to step back into the studio, which in turn means I was unable to bid farewell to the cherished SAFM family in person. I extend my heartfelt apologies for this unexpected absence and any inconvenience it may have caused.
