Rebecca Gibney will host the new version of Millionaire Hot Seat when it returns to Channel Ten in 2026.

I was so thrilled to hear that the wonderful Halifax f.p., a 60-year-old actress, is the new host of the game show! Everyone’s been guessing for months since Eddie McGuire left, and I couldn’t be happier with this choice. She’s going to be fantastic!

The actress, who was born in New Zealand, announced her new job on social media, saying she’s thrilled about the chance.

The secret’s out! Rebecca announced she was thrilled to be joining the cast of a show she’s loved for years.

She also mentioned how significant it was to become the first woman to host the show, which had originally aired on Channel Nine from 2009 to 2023.

The show ‘Millionaire Hot Seat’ has had a huge impact on many lives globally, and I’m incredibly honored to be the first woman to host it, she shared.

I’m so grateful to the amazing team at Channel 10 and Paramount+ for this incredible opportunity and for believing in me. I’m sure I’ll be nervous, and maybe even a little emotional, but I promise to bring a lot of joy, fun, and give it my all!

I realize I have a lot to live up to. I promised myself that after turning sixty, I wouldn’t let fear hold me back from trying new experiences, and that’s exactly what I’m doing now!

Last month, news broke that the popular quiz show *Millionaire Hot Seat*, previously hosted by Eddie McGuire, is getting a fresh start on Channel Ten.

Originally airing on Nine, the network gave the fan favourite the axe in 2023 after 2,500 episodes.

Curio Pictures, the company behind shows like Shark Tank and The Artful Dodger, has announced that filming for the show’s revival will start in Melbourne in September. They shared this news with those hoping to be involved.

The producer’s website invited people to participate and compete for a chance to win prizes, highlighting the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge.
