Reality Star’s Baby Mama Survives Brutal Beating – But Lover’s Desperate Escape Ends in Tragedy

The woman found at the scene of a fatal fall from a New York hotel, who had recently been with this man, is a reality star’s ex-partner. She asserts that their encounter transformed into a struggle for life.

A woman with red hair, who was taken into custody by police following an incident at a Times Square hotel where a man plunged 15 stories to his death, has been identified as Brittany Malsch, a former girlfriend of Real Housewives of New Jersey star John Fuda, DailyMail.com reports exclusively.

On April 5, at approximately 6:30 am, Emmanuel Velez, aged 39, tragically lost his life after falling from the 45 Times Square hotel, which usually charges around $279 per night for its rooms.

He had spent the night with Malsch after the two connected online.

However, during an exclusive chat with DailyMail.com, Malsch, aged 37, revealed that the event was not a romantic experience, but rather a harrowing night in which she asserted she had to battle fiercely just to survive.

She claimed that the man with one child brutally assaulted her, leaving her severely injured, particularly focusing on her face, just prior to him leaping.

For about two months, Malsch had been seeing Velez, and they arranged to meet up with one of Velez’s friends at approximately 3:30 in the morning.

Upon arriving, it became apparent to her that they were using some sort of illegal substances, as she shared with DailyMail.com. The specific drug wasn’t clear to her, and frankly, she admitted she was confused about the entire incident.

The relationship between us became tense due to a lack of communication on my part, stemming from his repeated aggressive actions towards me, which occurred about two weeks ago and left me with fractured ribs, requiring hospitalization.

In a moment, her friend departed, and for just a fleeting instant, everything seemed perfect. We were embraced on the bed, snuggling up close, and then it felt as if I witnessed his spirit depart from his physical form, she explained.

I found myself struck by an unusual sight: his skin had transformed to a vivid shade of green, and his mouth seemed frozen in place. I couldn’t help but question, “Hey there, what’s going on? You look… different! Is everything alright?

Suddenly, his eyes rolled to the back of his head, and his body became lifeless. For a moment, I feared he was dead. Panic set in, and I began to shake him forcefully, pleading, “Come on, come on! Wake up, wake up! Get up, get up!

As soon as he regained consciousness, he lunged towards me, aiming straight for my neck. On the ground, he overpowered me, leaving me battered and bruised, particularly in my head. He reduced me to a powdery mess, that’s how brutal it was.

During the fight, it is said that Velez forcibly tore Brittany’s fingernail out when she tried to free herself by jabbing her finger into his mouth.

During the fight, she emphasized that she was struggling desperately, with other hotel patrons alerting the security upon hearing the commotion.

In a state of intense fear, I found myself in a position where he was forcing his knee against my neck, his hand muffling my screams, and his fingers pinching my nose. It felt like I was on the brink of fainting, every breath becoming more and more labored as it seemed like I was being strangled with an iron grip.

In a state of panic, I yelled, “He’s attempting to take my life! Give aid!” He forcefully pinched my nose closed, causing a fracture, and subsequently tried to muffle my screams by pressing his mouth against mine, attempting to deprive me of air while my nose was blocked.

He repeatedly hit me with clenched fists, targeting my eyes and head. In that moment, he seemed like a terrifying beast, as if the devil itself had taken over him. I firmly believe that things would not have turned out differently under those circumstances.

‘If it wasn’t me that night. It would be someone else in the future.’

Following their altercation with Velez, Malsch thinks he attempted a hasty exit when she unlocked the hotel’s security door.

Earlier that night, it was said that he and his companions may have tampered with the hotel window security locks, enabling them to be opened more widely.

According to Malsch, he mistakenly underestimated the distance between the 15th floor of the hotel and the rooftop of the high school when making his jump, resulting in an accidental fall.

He likely believed the individuals at the door were law enforcement rather than security personnel. Given his awareness of the actions he’d recently taken against her and his familiarity with her appearance, this seems plausible.

‘If he didn’t jump and try to get away, he probably would’ve gone to jail for the rest of his life.

‘I went to answer the door, I was covered in blood, and I could hear him leave out the window.

I was genuinely taken aback, yet not saddened. After all, the man made every effort to end my life; it’s hard for me to feel remorse in this situation. Instead, I feel a sense of relief knowing that I won’t have to confront him ever again.

According to Malsch, she’s still struggling to fully recuperate following the attack. She sustained a black eye and a broken nose, with Velez tearing out some of her hair in the process.

She didn’t realize he had fallen to his death after leaping from the window until the police discovered his lifeless body on the rooftop.

The authorities have determined the incident as an accidental occurrence, and the final determination regarding the cause of death is still pending from the Chief Medical Examiner.

But Malsch believes it was an accident, branding Velez a ‘coward’, who wouldn’t commit suicide.

She remarked, “If he hadn’t acted so violently and abusively, with an evil intention to harm me that fateful night, I think he wouldn’t have felt the need to flee.

‘I am a tough person. Anybody that knows me will tell you, “Britt, she’ll kick you’re a**.”

On that fateful night, I genuinely believed my life was at an end. It’s hard for me to accept that I survived, and even more so, that he is no longer alive.

After being freed from a previous arrest in May 2024, Malsch has been making an effort to reconstruct her life and move forward.

For approximately two years, she resided in a transitional facility that offers a residential reentry program specifically designed for female ex-inmates struggling with drug addiction and mental health problems.

In the thirteenth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, a woman with one child was brought up, as Rachel Fuda, John’s spouse since 2017, initiated legal proceedings to adopt John and Brittany’s son, Jaiden, who celebrated his eighteenth birthday in January.

Malsch had kept her distance from him due to his past incarcerations. During the debut of season 13 in 2023, the Fuda family became prominent on the show while Malsch was residing in a halfway house in New Jersey.

Previous convictions on record include burglary, entering a building illegally, money laundering (of approximately a quarter of a million dollars), and intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine.

For a period of four years, Malsch and Fuda were romantically involved and got engaged for two years prior. However, their relationship ended in 2009. Later on in 2011, the court granted Fuda sole parental responsibility over Jaiden.

Before the occurrence, Malsch stated that she and Velez had been involved in two other disputes, one of which she believed caused her a possible rib injury.

On this occasion, his attack wasn’t a new occurrence – it was actually the third time he had assaulted me. With each incident, things seemed to worsen. Following our latest encounter, he continued to threaten me, saying, “I’m going to end your life.

She mentioned that he was acting strangely in various ways. I hesitated to involve the police. Instead, I attempted to pretend he didn’t exist, but he seemed to always appear wherever I went or show up on the streets, and then begin trailing me.

After pondering over the situation, I can’t help but feel that Velez has received his due. To put it bluntly, when someone treats me as he did, they deserve nothing less than eternal torment at this very moment.

On Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at around 6:29 AM, the NYPD responded to an emergency call at 125 West 45 Street, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Midtown North Precinct. They subsequently confirmed that Velez was the individual who tragically lost his life in this incident.

Upon their arrival, the officers found a 39-year-old man who was unconscious and not responding, showing signs that he had apparently fallen from a high place.

Emergency Medical Services arrived and declared the assisted person dead at the location itself. The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office will ascertain the reason behind the death.

Velez was laid to rest on April 12 at St. John’s Cemetery in Middle Village, New York.
