Reality star reveals terrifying health scare which saw him rushed to hospital after possible stroke left him paralysed and unable to talk

Former reality television personality Liam Brown recently disclosed an alarming health incident that caused him to become paralyzed and lose the ability to speak.

On Tuesday, Liam, who was featured on Snowflake Mountain by Netflix in 2022 and later joined InTheStyle, broke unexpected news through his Instagram Story.

At midnight, the 25-year-old experienced a sudden, petrifying incident that made him unable to move or speak for half an hour. He was completely paralyzed during this time.

After a swift recovery, he resumed his usual routine, but unfortunately, the incident recurred the next day, leading to his admission to the hospital.

Liam shared that he had been prescribed medication prior to his MRI scans, as doctors believed he might have experienced a brief, or “mini,” stroke known as Transient Ischemic Attack, which involves momentary interruption in blood supply to the brain.

On Wednesday, Liam announced that he’d been released to heal at home, yet he clarified that medical professionals remain uncertain about what caused his ailment.

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart, folks. I find myself in a rather alarming predicament and have been admitted to the hospital. I apologize for not getting back to your messages; please understand that my current situation has made it difficult for me to respond.

Regrettably, a few nights past, I experienced a deeply frightening incident during the night. Essentially, I was rendered immobile for about half an hour, unable to move or speak. Afterward, I tried to brush it off but my speech didn’t fully recover and it recurred again yesterday.

‘I was admitted to the hospital due to a mini stroke, often referred to as a Transient Ischemic Attack. I currently can’t feel sensation on the right side of my face. At this moment, doctors are unsure about the exact cause behind this issue, and they are conducting numerous tests, including blood tests and scans, to either detect a potential blood clot or uncover the underlying reason for this occurrence. I will make sure to keep everyone informed on my progress.’

On Thursday, Liam posted on Instagram: “I’m back home now, and I can’t help but express my gratitude to each of you for your warm wishes and messages. They’ve truly touched me. I’ll do my best to respond to everyone.

Today I underwent an MRI scan, and fortunately, it didn’t reveal any signs of an ongoing stroke – that’s great news! However, since the results are inconclusive in some aspects, it leaves us with a sense of uncertainty.

‘The consultant suggested that it might be the case that no stroke actually occurred or that the clot had already dissolved because I had been taking stroke medication in the hospital for several days before the scan, which typically eliminates blood clots.’

It wasn’t optimal to have to wait such a long time for an MRI, particularly given my urgent stroke status as a high-priority admission. However, since it’s highly improbable that I will ever be certain if the delay had any impact, I understand that the NHS is operating under extraordinary stress, and I am thankful to each person who cared for me during my stay.

Currently, I’m prioritizing relaxation and moving at a leisurely pace as I undergo further examinations to get a precise understanding of the situation.

These past times have been quite frightening, mainly because of the fear of it recurring. However, I find some comfort in the fact that I’ve decided to stick with my medication for a month as a precaution. Despite the apprehension, there’s a sense of hope within me. Once again, thank you for your continued love and support!

In another post he added: ‘In terms of how I feel within myself, I feel ok. 

I’m finding it tough with some phrases or specific words, which suggests a potential speaking problem. However, I’m gradually getting better overall following a difficult experience.

Liam, who’s been using the Mounjaro weight loss shot for a year, later posted again expressing that he encountered harsh comments from individuals criticizing him for getting sick after choosing to take the injection.

He mentioned: “I’d like to point out… comments such as ‘That’s the consequence of getting the heavy jab’ in my messages are absolutely unhelpful, and they clearly resonate with thoughts I’ve already considered.

‘I had informed the five consultants about my use of Mounjaro, but none of them appeared or expressed any concern that it might be the problem. I would appreciate it if you could refrain from offering unsolicited advice for now.’

Shortly after his appearance on Netflix, Liam was initially brought on board by the previous owner, Adam Frisby, in a supporting role at InTheStyle. Over time, he proved himself capable and was ultimately promoted to the position of manager.

In December, Liam departed from the company and subsequently established Rede Talent, a business specializing in influencer representation.

Liam gained prominence in 2022 on Netflix’s Snowflake Mountain, surprising contestants who expected it to resemble Geordie Shore or take place in a villa. However, their families were aware that the pampered competitors would encounter a more demanding test instead.

Instead, they found themselves stranded deep within the untamed landscapes of the Lake District, losing much of their belongings to an explosion, leaving them only with a modest collection of necessities. A string of challenging assignments followed.

As a devoted admirer, I found myself among the ten contestants of the show, all young adults who were chosen due to a shared trait: their parents viewed them as ‘snowflakes.’ This label encompassed a lack of work ethic, excessive sensitivity, a need for structure, over-reliance on parental support, and even difficulty performing basic tasks like washing a dish, let alone managing themselves independently.

Later on, Liam found out, jokingly sharing with This Morning, that ‘the producers had secretly arranged it through my guardian, and surprisingly, she consented to subject me to this dreadful ordeal.’

He mentioned, “Upon arrival, we were all deeply affected. It’s as if you question, ‘What on earth have brought me here?’

After that, you might experience a moment of collapse, much like a midlife crisis. You come to understand your circumstances, and then you move forward with things.
