Real reason Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom NEVER married as they ‘split’ six years after grand proposal

In 2019, Orlando Bloom planned an extravagant and unexpected proposal for Katy Perry, complete with a private helicopter journey and the surprise arrival of both her friends and relatives for the special occasion.

40-year-old songstress struggled to conceal her joy as she boasted about her partner’s extravagant romantic gesture, displaying a massive blossom-style engagement ring, rumored to be valued at $5 million, in a subsequent interview.

After six years together, it appears that the couple has decided to part ways rather than continue their relationship, as they have recently been reported to have separated following weeks of speculation.

Those close to the pair believed that a breakup was fast becoming more likely than a wedding.

So what went wrong?

In 2019, the unconventional pair got engaged; it had been three years since their initial encounter and mutual passion for In-N-Out burgers at a Golden Globes event. Eager to tie the knot, they aimed for a swift wedding ceremony.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, their wedding had to be delayed. Over time, with Perry focusing on her job and becoming a mother to Daisy (born in August 2020), the wedding plans were put on hold.

This version maintains the original meaning but is more conversational and easier for readers to understand.

They encountered some difficult times, and given that her worldwide Lifetimes tour persisted until December, getting married wasn’t something they were considering, a source claimed.

They expressed their excitement about tying the knot soon after getting engaged, but then COVID-19 intervened, disrupting their plans. Originally, she had anticipated marrying with a baby bump, and they were eagerly preparing for that special moment.

As a devoted admirer, I must confess, I’d been eagerly anticipating this moment – the day she’d become a bride. Yet, fate had other plans, shrouded in the uncertainty of COVID-19 and the confinement of travel restrictions. Regrettably, we were compelled to delay their joyous union.

Over the course of time, she continued to produce fresh music, organized a tour, and stepped down from American Idol, all while managing her new parenting role. It seemed there was no spare time to arrange a wedding.

They added: ‘The chances of breaking up were more likely than getting married.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to Perry and Bloom’s reps for comment.

The couple started dating in early 2016 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019.

For dinner, we headed out. I had planned that we’d explore some art installations afterwards, but instead, we arrived at a helicopter. He popped the question to me in this very helicopter, and Perry gleamed with joy as she shared her experience on Jimmy Kimmel Live a few days later.

‘We landed on a rooftop. My whole family was there, and all my friends. He did so well.’

However, moving ahead to the present day, over five years later, these two celebrities haven’t gotten married as expected. In fact, they’ve become entangled in breakup speculations.

Or, more casually: Fast-forward to now, it’s been more than half a decade since, and despite the initial buzz, they’re still not hitched, and there have even been whispers about them splitting up.

It emerged on Wednesday that Bloom and Perry have parted ways, but they remain friendly. A source disclosed to UsWeekly, “Katy is naturally upset, yet she feels relief at no longer having to face another divorce, as that period was the most difficult in her life.

The source labeled the rumored separation as ‘overdue’ and stated that tensions between them have persisted for several months.

Previously, the singer got hitched with the well-known British humorist, Russell Brand. Their union was formalized through a conventional Indian wedding in India towards the end of 2010. However, by December 2011, they declared their separation.

In an interview with Rolling Stone in August 2014, Perry described [the divorce] as emotionally devastating for her. She said it felt like losing a cherished dream. She had been living in a fairytale world, but the harsh truth was far from it.

News broke that she separated from Bloom, following images of her appearing visibly sad while sailing with her dancers. This is quite different from the radiant woman who couldn’t help but smile and express joy over Bloom’s elaborate proposal back in those days.

As I traverse the vibrant landscapes of Australia on my current tour, I find myself reflecting on the exciting events unfolding elsewhere. Meanwhile, my esteemed colleague, Bloom, has touched down in the romantic city of Venice, Italy, gracing Lauren Sanchez’s wedding to Jeff Bezos with her presence.

On their arrival before the upcoming major event, images emerged showing the actor locking lips with Kim Kardashian while welcoming the renowned family.

Last weekend, Bloom made a visit to Perry, who has recently been seen without her prominent engagement ring, and their child in Australia. The British actor was noticed strolling around Perth’s city center with Daisy while she performed.

Perry seemed to fan the flames of speculation about the health of her relationship when she made a remark that hinted at trouble during a performance earlier this month.

In Sydney, she was singing her 2008 hit ballad I’m Still Breathing when someone gave her a pack of Tim Tam chocolate cookies.

She shared with the audience that the tune expresses her experience with a split-up, and a pack of Tim Tams helped her through it.

She expressed her gratitude, then resumed her performance as she knelt and passed the biscuits to spectators seated at the front.
