K. Michelle, a well-known singer, has shared her experience with the dangerous complications she faced after undergoing a black market Brazilian butt lift procedure.
Ten years ago, in 2012, the woman received illegal silicone injections in her buttocks. Since then, the 44-year-old has had numerous surgeries to remove the silicone and restore her health.
Michelle, a cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, recently underwent another surgery to remove infected tissue in her buttocks. This infection was a complication from a previous cosmetic procedure.
The performer revealed that she experienced a wardrobe malfunction – a leak near her rear – just before taking the stage at the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards.
She explained that she was rushed onto stage still in her bathrobe, with people using hair dryers on her to quickly get her ready to perform.
Michelle then broke down crying and sobbed about how much she regrets ever going under the knife.
“I can’t believe I did this to myself,” she sobbed. “It’s the biggest mistake of my life, and I’ve been dealing with the consequences ever since.”
Michelle shared that her health problems started because of silicone that was put in her body, and it spread to her legs a few years after the procedure she had in 2012.
She clarified that it wasn’t the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure itself that caused her health problems, but rather the silicone injections she received.
The most difficult realization for me was understanding that, despite any efforts or surgeries, the silicone will always remain in my body. It’s something I’ll have to live with permanently.
She added, ‘I will never be fully healed.’
In 2012, Michelle began cosmetic procedures with silicone injections in her buttocks. She later had fat moved from her stomach to enhance her rear and hips, and also underwent breast augmentation and a nose job.
‘I wanted to look like a Coke bottle,’ she previously confessed to People magazine.
Michelle revealed she had the surgery performed by a doctor in Atlanta after learning her favorite rapper had also used him.
He wasn’t a licensed doctor; it was an illegal procedure involving injections they called ‘hydrogel,’ she explained.

For the past ten years, Michelle has had several surgeries in an attempt to repair injuries to her body.
At one point, she became so ill that she needed two blood transfusions.
She previously described facing a health scare as the most frightening experience of her life. Despite being strong, she found the lumps and resulting physical changes very upsetting.
In 2022, K. Michelle shared her experiences with surgery in the Lifetime docuseries, My Killer Body.
She’s currently on the new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and is working on changing her musical style from R&B to country.
The number of Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs) surged by 90% from 2015 to 2022, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Several celebrities, like Cardi B, Khloe Kardashian, and Iggy Azalea, are also believed to have had procedures to enhance their buttocks.
A potential issue with Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs) is fat necrosis, where the fat tissue in the buttocks can die after the procedure.
Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs) have quickly become very popular, but they’re also considered one of the most dangerous cosmetic procedures. There’s a risk of death from complications for about 1 in 3,000 patients.
Many women travel abroad for cheaper medical procedures, but often don’t receive follow-up care from the surgeon who performed them, or receive very little.
A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a procedure where a surgeon removes fat from areas like the hips, back, stomach, and thighs using liposuction. This fat is then transferred and injected into the buttocks to enhance its size and shape.
If patients don’t have enough of their own fat for transfer, they sometimes use artificial fillers, and occasionally silicone. However, silicone can be very risky.
