Ready Or Not 2: Writer Drops Major Hints About Sequel’s Timeline and I’m Hooked!
Among the exciting additions to the 2025 movie lineup, it’s thrilling to learn that the follow-up to Radio Silence’s “Ready or Not” is in progress. With the production of “Ready or Not 2” already underway, we can only speculate about what lies ahead. However, a recent chat with co-writer Guy Busick has shed some light on when this sequel will unfold, and I have a hunch about what we might anticipate.
Ready Or Not 2’s Timeframe Literally Doesn’t Miss A Beat
During a recent interview related to his co-writing role on “Final Destination: Bloodlines,” the writer provided some tantalizing hints about what character Grace, played by Samara Weaving, has been doing since the last film. Although it may seem that she hasn’t done much according to the script, writer Guy Busick revealed a plot point for “Ready or Not: Here I Come” to ComicBook, suggesting that there might be more to Grace’s story than initially meets the eye.
The movie continues immediately following the conclusion of the previous one. Grace finds herself in a hospital setting, with no elapsed time for her. Her last recollection is that of her in-laws and new husband being blown up, right before her eyes. They disintegrated, leaving her bathed in blood. She stepped outside for a cigarette, and emergency responders arrived soon after. The screen fades to credits, then picks up the story from that very moment.
Continuing from where the previous post ended, it seems the fact that most of the cast for “Ready or Not 2” are newcomers could actually be an asset. However, as you delve deeper into Guy Busick’s comments about the creation of “Here I Come”, the classic sci-fi sequels that inspired everyone involved will undoubtedly catch your attention.

The James Cameron Sequels That Inspired Ready Or Not Two Suggest Some Fun Possibilities
In another part of the interview for the film “Final Destination: Bloodlines“, Mr. Busick spoke about how the creative team behind “Ready or Not: Here I Come” frequently compared their project to the “holy scriptures” of sequels, namely “Aliens” and “Terminator 2“. Apart from being two exceptional movie sequels, these James Cameron masterpieces provided the solutions to the questions that Guy Busick and his team were consistently pondering.
How can we create a unique spin on it while still maintaining the essential elements, even if it’s not the same genre? Our new project, titled “Here I Am,” will blend horror and humor, much like its predecessor. However, we aim to expand upon its universe in an extraordinary way, preserving the core essence that made the original so captivating.
In essence, based on the movies we’ve discussed, here’s what I anticipate Ready Or Not: Here I Come will entail. Initially, the storyline similar to Aliens will have Grace battling against the LeDomus family and their sinister marriage traditions. This family may harbor secret members who share the same dark pact with The Devil, as hinted in the first film, which is currently available for streaming via a Hulu subscription.
In a twist of events similar to how Samara Weaving’s character could outwit this game due to past experiences, her adversary will have to escalate the difficulty. Yet, to keep things engaging and enjoyable, let’s introduce an element reminiscent of Terminator 2, making it truly exciting!
Instead of starting with Grace’s rampage again, let’s focus on Kathryn Newton’s character, who seems to be getting married. We see her loving fiancé, suspicious family preparing for the chase, and the festivities about to begin. However, just as things are getting interesting, Samara Weaving unexpectedly enters, initially appearing as a villain, but later revealing she’s here to save Ms. Newton. This twist leads to a chaotic third act filled with violence!

While it’s purely speculative, I can’t help but feel that this setup presents an intriguing opportunity to challenge the core concept of Ready or Not 2. Regardless of any reservations I might have about the sequel, this tantalizing hint has me eagerly anticipating my chance to join in. Unfortunately, we’re still in the dark about when this sequel will be released, which could prove to be an ingenious marketing strategy, as eager fans will scour every corner for any clues regarding its release date.
