As a long-time viewer of Reacher, I can tell you Jack Reacher’s seen his share of tough times over the first three seasons. But trust me, season four is going to be different – and significantly darker. We’re finally going to see a side of Reacher we haven’t explored before, and it’s going to be intense.
Filming for Season 4 of Reacher is complete, and the new season is expected to arrive on Prime Video in late 2026. Fans are already anticipating its release, as it will be based on Gone Tomorrow, considered one of Lee Child’s strongest Jack Reacher novels, and promises to deliver the most thrilling action sequences seen in the show so far.
As a huge Reacher fan, I’m really excited to hear Alan Ritchson promise that season 4 is going to be the best one yet! And it sounds like we’re going to see a very different Jack Reacher this time around. Apparently, the source material, ‘Gone Tomorrow,’ really pushes him to his limits. He’s going to face some serious losses and hardships that will fundamentally change who he is and send him down a completely new path. It’s going to be a darker, more complex Reacher than we’ve seen before, and honestly, I can’t wait.
Jack Reacher’s Story In Season 4 Will Begin On A Grim, Traumatic Note

Each season of Reacher starts with a high-energy action sequence designed to showcase just how incredibly strong Alan Ritchson’s character is. For example, the first season immediately establishes his power by showing him easily break free from restraints and then defeat a group of prisoners in a fight.
I’ve been a fan of Reacher from the start, and I’ve noticed a pattern: usually, each season kicks off with Jack Reacher jumping in to be the hero, like saving someone from a crime. He even managed to gain Zachary Beck’s trust and join his team in Season 3! But apparently, Season 4 is going to be different. I’ve heard it’s starting with a really tough scene that will actually hurt Reacher, leaving him changed. It’s a big departure from what we’ve seen before, and I’m really curious to see how it plays out.
I just finished reading Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow, and it really grabbed me from the start. It opens with Jack Reacher on a train, and he immediately gets a bad feeling about a woman nearby. He starts mentally running through the signs, and honestly, she seemed to fit the profile of someone planning something terrible. He tried to intervene, but this time, he wasn’t able to prevent a tragedy, and it really messed him up – he’s seriously haunted by what happened and feels a lot of guilt.
The Prime Video series adapting Gone Tomorrow is expected to include a famous opening scene from Lee Child’s book. This will show a much more fragile and damaged side of Jack Reacher than viewers have seen so far. For the first time, Reacher will experience failure, after consistently succeeding in protecting others and delivering justice.
Jack Reacher Will Be Driven By A Significantly Different Purpose In Season 4

Throughout the first three seasons of Reacher, the main driving force behind Jack Reacher’s actions has been a need for revenge. He investigated his brother’s death in season one, pursued the killers of his old army buddies in season two, and in season three, he only teamed up with the DEA as a way to get back at Quinn for killing Dominique Kohl.
Even though Jack Reacher isn’t directly involved in the events of season 4, a death he witnesses on a train will weigh heavily on him, leading him down a path of guilt. This guilt will be his primary motivation as he pursues justice and uncovers a dangerous conspiracy that puts his life at risk. It will be interesting to see this vulnerable side of Reacher, as he’s usually portrayed as strong and unbreakable.
