Reacher confirms season 4 cast replacement after early star exit

For the upcoming fourth season, Reacher has announced a new actor stepping into the role previously occupied by one who left prematurely.

According to Deadline, Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette takes over the role of small-town cop Jay Merrick from Jay Baruchel for the upcoming season of Amazon Prime Video’s action series. This character reportedly has a significant part in the new season.

Baruchel, famous for his roles in BlackBerry and the How to Train Your Dragon series (as Hiccup), was originally part of an upcoming project, but he recently had to step down because of a personal issue.

Rodriguez-Marquette, who has worked on shows like ‘Barry’ and ‘RZR’, is set to be part of the latest cast members alongside Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Corrigan, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, and Kathleen Robertson for the upcoming series.

Amazon MGM Studios gave the go-ahead for the fourth season of the show, which is adapted from Lee Child’s 2009 novel “Gone Tomorrow,” prior to its third season even being broadcasted. This decision was officially confirmed by Vernon Sanders, who heads television at the company.

Reacher has taken off in a way we never anticipated, captivating audiences worldwide, and we’re excited to continue its journey with another season,” he expressed, hinting at even more “thrilling action and exciting exploration”.

The latest news follows the highly praised third season where Alan Ritchson’s primary character had an encounter with someone from his previous life while infiltrating a significant drug syndicate to dismantle it.

Hey there! I’m absolutely thrilled about Season 4, this series never fails to captivate me since my childhood. It’s one of the most engaging shows I’ve watched in recent times, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. From Indonesia, sending you all the love! And yes, the season three finale left me a bit teary-eyed.

Apart from the fourth season of Reacher, the network is also developing a separate series centered around Maria Sten’s character, Frances Neagley. Provisionally called Neagley, it’s expected that Justin Ritchson will make a special appearance as Jack Reacher in this new series.

Reacher streams on Prime Video.

The debut issue of Digital Spy’s print magazine, titled “British Comedy Legends,” is available for purchase! You can find it at your local newsstand or buy it online for only £3.99.
