Raye leaves fans speechless with her ‘utterly stunning’ vocals as she takes to the stage alongside scantily-clad Tyla and Shawn Mendes at the MTV EMAs
As a seasoned connoisseur of music and pop culture events, I must say that the MTV European Music Awards (EMA) never fail to impress me with their star-studded lineups and electrifying performances. This year’s event held at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena was no exception.
At the MTV European Music Awards held in Manchester on Sunday night, Raye captivated the audience with her breathtakingly beautiful voice that left everyone amazed.
During the performance, the 27-year-old singer who received the award for Best UK & Ireland Act, shared the stage with Tyla, Shawn Mendes, and Teddy Swims.
Raye presented an extraordinary appearance while singing a mix of her popular songs like Escapism, Oscar Winning Tears, and Body Dysmorphia, dressed in a semi-transparent gown that was reminiscent of nude fabric.
After her show, the audience flooded X with praise saying, “We loved her performance!”, “Raye was amazing at the MTV EMAs!”, or simply, “She was incredible!
Simultaneously, at the age of 22, Tyla’s performance in a revealing outfit ignited excitement, eventually earning her the titles for Best R&B and Best Afrobeats categories.
At the MTV European Music Awards held in Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena on Sunday, Taylor Swift reigned supreme on the winners’ podium, even though she was absent from the glitzy event itself.
Taylor Swift, aged 34, on the verge of launching the last part of her groundbreaking Eras Tour in Canada, was honored with four awards. Among these accolades were Best Artist, Best North American Act, and Best Live Artist.
The award for the Best Video was given to Taylor Swift featuring Post Malone, for their popular Fortnite music video from her recent album called The Tortured Poets Department.
Taylor couldn’t make it to the awards ceremony in the UK because she was busy watching Travis Kelce play for his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, against the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium.
Elsewhere The Best Song award went to Sabrina Carpenter for her smash hit Espresso from her Short n’ Sweet album.
Before the event, Rita excitedly announced, “I’m absolutely thrilled to reunite with my MTV crew as I host the EMAs for a third time!
I feel right at home on the EMAs stage, and this year’s event in Manchester promises to be nothing short of amazing!
“We have an extraordinary collection of musical acts and some exciting secrets up our sleeve! We can’t wait to experience the fun!” (In Scots dialect, “mad fer it” translates to “can’t wait for it.”)
She was part of the group that included Maya Jama, Vick Hope, and Jodie-Turner Smith, adding a touch of elegance to the red carpet earlier in the evening.
At this occasion, artists such as Raye, Pet Shop Boys, Le Sserafim, Shawn Mendes, and Benson gave their performances.
At the UK awards, Raye took home the title for the best act, while Ariana Grande, who couldn’t attend the event, received the Best Pop award.
Best Hip-Hop award went to Eminem while the Best Electronic gong went to Calvin Harris.
In other categories, Jimin triumphed as Best K-Pop, and Peso Pluma emerged victorious in the Best Latin Group.
At the event, Tyla received both the honors for the Top R&B Artist and Top Afrobeats Artist. Interestingly, Tyla was also part of the performance lineup, while Benson Boone, the night’s newcomer, kicked off the show with his popular tunes, taking home the Best New Artist award.
At the event, the award for Best Rock was given to Liam Gallagher, and Busta Rhymes received the Global Icon accolade.
Later on the Best Alternative award went to American pop rock band f Imagine Dragons.
The Best Collaboration award went to LISA feat. Rosalía for their hit NEW WOMAN.
This year, it was Rita Ora who broke records by hosting the MTV European Music Awards for a remarkable third time at the glamorous event held at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena, surrounded by many celebrities.
The occasion followed the necessity to terminate the event held in Paris the previous year, as a result of heightened security concerns during the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
