Ray Winstone reignites feud with A-list actor as he brands him ‘rude’ and ‘up his own a***’ and admits he almost ‘knocked him out’ after working together on Oscar-winning film
Ray Winstone spoke candidly about his opinion of Jack Nicholson, describing him as both impolite and arrogant.
68-year-old actor, best known for Quadrophenia, renewed a 20-year-long conflict with a prominent Hollywood star following their collaboration on the Academy Award-winning movie The Departed in 2006.
Despite their past disagreements, it seems that after nearly two decades, Ray’s viewpoint towards the now 88-year-old individual has remained unaltered.
On the Things We Like with Eamonn & Paul podcast, the Irish host directly inquired about his feelings towards Jack.
Affirming their disagreements, he admitted: ‘Indeed, we didn’t see eye to eye. To be honest, I didn’t gel with him. You know, as he grows older, I believe he might have a lot happening in his life. Perhaps that was the issue.’
I found him quite arrogant and disrespectful, as he seemed excessively self-absorbed, which left me astonished.

He showed an extraordinary lack of manners towards me, he treated my wife disrespectfully too. If he were a bit younger, I would have undoubtedly fought him.
In acknowledgement of Jack’s expertise in his field, he noted: “However, it’s important to recognize that he’s significantly more experienced than I am due to his advanced age.
1) “He excels at everything he undertakes; his skills are exceptional. Not only is he an outstanding writer, but others seem to agree with this assessment too, as he frequently boasted about it.
Yet, it’s hard for me to find an explanation for his actions. Despite his advanced age, my grandfather was more than just an elderly man; he embodied gentility. Truly, he was a delightful individual.
Essentially, I couldn’t care less about him. Frankly, I don’t have positive feelings towards him. If you want to know how I feel, that’s what I think.
Ray portrayed Arnold ‘Frenchie’ French, a ruthless enforcer under Jack Nicholson’s mob leadership, in the Academy Award-winning movie helmed by Martin Scorsese.
The star has spoken about his feud with Jack in the past after he admitted they ‘didn’t click’.
At the BAFTA Life In Pictures event in 2014, he admitted that his relationship with Jack wasn’t smooth sailing. It’s possible that Jack was experiencing some turbulent times.

‘Everyone else loves him to death – I just wanted him to be a great guy. We just did not click.’
In an interview with The Independent, Ray openly disclosed that he was puzzled as to why Jack felt antipathy towards him. However, he remained unphased, stating: “It doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t surprise me. We might have our differences. He’s not the first person I’ve had disagreements with, and he won’t be the last.
He stated: ‘I disapprove of haughtiness. It’s unnecessary. Such a sense of superiority over others. In the end, we all share the common fate of ending up in the ground.’
However, certain individuals possess a rather annoying habit of talking too much with a smug expression. There are multiple strategies for handling this. One approach is to express your feelings clearly and ask them to stop speaking rudely. Alternatively, you might choose to respond physically by giving them a firm warning or addressing the issue in another constructive manner.
Despite their lack of a personal connection, Ray expressed his willingness to collaborate with Jack in the future, stating emphatically: “Indeed, I look forward to working with him again! He’s an exceptional performer.
In a different part of the interview, Eamonn didn’t mince words when criticizing his previous work associates in the television world, referring to them as “dishonest.
During Ray’s discussion about his LA residence and how the superficial glamour of Hollywood eventually led him to return to the UK, Eamonn chimed in to voice his distaste for the phony connections he’s encountered within the entertainment world.
In a playful, sarcastic manner, the speaker expressed their dislike for a certain character, specifically mentioning “so and so,” while expressing a preference for another individual, stating they did not see eye to eye with them.
As a lifestyle advisor, I’d put it this way: “At the heart of my approach lies this principle – my business is built on it. You see, we’re kindred spirits, Ray, and much like you, I find myself in situations where my dislike for someone becomes apparent.
Furthermore, it seems there are numerous unsavory individuals you may encounter. One might hear comments like, “He’s wonderful, he’s amazing,” in response to such people.
