Ray Stevens shares update after minor heart attack: ‘Everything is still beautiful!’
On July 4, Ray Stevens, a well-known singer, gave his initial report after undergoing surgery at the hospital – marking his first update since then.
Based on his Instagram posts, it appears that at 86 years old, he’s been transferred from the intensive care unit and is still progressing with his recovery.
Today’s update: Ray has moved out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is starting to take walks around the hospital, under a nurse’s supervision, as part of his recovery process following surgery. He wants to express his heartfelt thanks for all the get-well cards and messages he’s received. Everything is looking great and beautiful!
The final sentence alludes to one of Stevens’ most renowned compositions, the Grammy-winning “Everything Is Beautiful.
According to the statement given to People magazine, representatives of Stevens stated that he is currently recuperating following a “minimally intrusive heart operation” performed on July 4th, due to discomfort in his chest at a hospital in Nashville.
After a heart catheterization procedure, Stevens learned that he experienced a small heart attack. Later on, a successful surgery was performed on him.
Despite the cancellation of his upcoming shows at the CabaRay Showroom in Nashville, fans are overjoyed to learn that the two-time Grammy winner is healthy.

Stevens has enjoyed a prosperous music journey, achieving his first top 10 pop single, “Ahab the Arab,” back in 1962. Known as a singer, he has produced 45 albums (as stated on his website), garnered two Grammy Awards, and was enshrined into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019.

Following the induction, Stevens was asked whether he would be retiring anytime soon.
“I feel fine; I’ll probably keel over after I hang up the phone,” he joked.
In 2024, he declared he was retiring – but then reversed his decision a year later, following the launch of a fresh album titled “Say Whut?
Despite previously stating that last year would be my last at CabaRay, I’ve had a change of heart as I wish to promote this upcoming album, he shared with NewsChannel 5 Nashville.
