Rauora is Rainbow Six Siege’s newest operator and she packs a punch

Rauora is equipped with sturdy barricades at entrances, a state-of-the-art defense mechanism, and she single-handedly oversees a home improvement project. In other words, Rauora has everything she needs for safety, innovation, and renovation.

On the closing day of the Six Invitational 2025, Ubisoft unveiled Rauora as a fresh addition to Rainbow Six Siege’s operator roster. As an attacker, she brings her D.O.M launcher into battle, which allows her to set up bulletproof barriers in doorways. Furthermore, the game developer has shared details on how and when players can unlock Rauora within the game.

Rauora – Rainbow Six Siege’s new operator

Rauora carries a marksman rifle, either a traditional sniper one like the M249 or a specialized model, as her main weapon. Her secondary weapon is now a Reapoer MK2 machine pistol. This new sidearm comes equipped with a red dot sight and an extended magazine, making Rauora more precise and potentially lethal in close-range situations.

Apart from her pair of weapons, Rauora also carries smoke grenades or breach charges as additional equipment. However, what truly sets her gear apart is the D.O.M. launcher. This Deployable Omnilink Mesh (D.O.M.) device deploys bulletproof systems at gateways. As an attacker, this tool proves vital for sealing off specific routes and dictating the course of the battle.

Rauora should point the Defense-On-Move (DOM) device at an accessible spot, such as doorways. A visual indicator will signal when the DOM can be deployed, and upon use, it fires a projectile towards the door which then installs a bulletproof panel that stretches to the ground. At first glance, it may appear that small devices like drones won’t be able to get through this barrier. However, Rauora’s DOM barrier has an innovative feature – it raises slightly to let drones pass before closing completely again.

Can drones move past the protective barriers, but what about Rauora and her team? These barriers feature a rectangular control at the top that becomes noticeable when operators get near. To open the impenetrable barrier, players must fire at this control. Once opened, they can relock it by interacting with the barrier again.

In a tactical sense, Rauora and her allies gain minor temporal advantages when it comes to the attacker barrier. Initially, upon deployment, only adversaries can unlock this barricade for a brief duration. Defenders are unable to unlock it since they won’t be able to see the trigger. The door operators respond more swiftly when activated by an Attacker, providing Rauora and her teammates with a slight edge in terms of time over their rivals.

In my experience as a fan, barricades aren’t foolproof; they can withstand gunfire, but explosive force will shatter them. Moreover, these barriers aren’t impervious to certain in-game elements like Tubarao’s Zoto Canister or Jager’s ADS when used strategically and at the right moment.

Details about the upcoming season, Rauora, along with the fresh season details, will be revealed in the coming month. The forthcoming version of Siege X is set to be an advancement of the game, offering innovative gameplay methods, extended tactical options, and enhanced audio and visual features.
