Rarely-seen disgraced celebrity chef Pete Evans makes low-key outing on his 51st birthday as he grabs a coffee
As a dedicated follower of Pete Evans’ career and personal life over the years, it’s hard not to feel a mix of emotions when I see him out for a coffee run on his 51st birthday. On one hand, I admire his tenacity and resilience in the face of adversity, as he continues to forge his own path despite facing numerous controversies and backlash.
On his 51st birthday, Pete Evans discreetly stepped out for a coffee errand in the early hours of Thursday.
A former celebrity chef, previously under scrutiny for his contentious opinions about COVID-19, was recently seen purchasing warm beverages in North Bondi.
He cut a casual figure in grey camouflage cargo trousers and a black hoodie, which he styled with a pair of chunky workboots.
Late last year, Pete decided to sport a striking new hairdo – a daring mohawk-mullet combo, and he’s been proudly flaunting it ever since.
Previously known MKR celebrity was spotted donning a black hat branded with the logo of his wellness center, Evolve Sanctuary, while picking up his warm beverages to go.
On the occasion of his 51st birthday, he embarked on an excursion early in the day, since he had traveled to Sydney from his countryside home located close to Byron Bay and Coolangatta for a single day.
Pete currently manages Evolve Sanctuary alongside his partner, Nicola Watson, following their decision to retreat from the limelight in response to their expressed opinions on Covid-19 and various contentious theories related to wildlife.
Since losing the support of 15 sponsors and businesses within just two days in November 2020, following his sharing of a neo-Nazi meme on social media, he has chosen to keep a low key profile.
Over the last several years, he’s been involved in numerous disputes due to his unconventional opinions on COVID-19 and outlandish conjectures about it.
A formerly well-known television personality faced criticism for promoting unfounded vaccine skepticism and was penalized $25,000 for advertising a device he asserted could treat COVID-19 with light therapy.
Back in May 2020, it became known that Pete ended his association with Channel Seven following a decade-long stint as a judge on My Kitchen Rules, working alongside Manu Feildel and occasional judge Colin Fassnidge.
During his time at the network, he gradually distanced himself from the norm by playfully exploring unconventional concepts for several years. This shift signified a clear departure from the mainstream.
Unrestricted by the traditional TV broadcasting agreements, he started sharing unscientific views about vaccinations and the Covid-19 outbreak across various social media platforms.
In July 2020, Pete caused uproar by stating untruthfully that COVID-19 was merely a “hoax” and that the pandemic wasn’t as severe as many global issues.
In May 2021, he received an $80,000 penalty for attempting to profit from the pandemic a second time by advertising fraudulent Covid treatments online.
He encountered trouble with authorities again, having previously been penalized $25,000 for attempting to offer his self-proclaimed BioCharger device for sale at $15,000 each on Facebook.
