On Monday morning, it was confirmed by The Times that Tory Lanez, the rapper currently incarcerated in state prison for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, was taken to a hospital following an altercation with another inmate where he was stabbed.
daystar Peterson, also known as Lanez, is currently in a secure condition following an incident in which he was attacked by another inmate using a homemade knife at a prison yard. He was quickly transported to a hospital in Bakersfield via ambulance from the California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi, as reported by TMZ, who initially broke the news about Lanez’s hospitalization. The reason behind the attack is currently unknown and the injuries sustained by Lanez are not considered life-threatening, according to TMZ’s report.
A representative from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilation declined to provide further details when contacted by The Times, and similarly, a lawyer representing Peterson failed to respond promptly to our inquiry for comment.
In August 2023, a 32-year-old Canadian musician was given a 10-year prison sentence for weapons charges related to an incident in 2020 where he accidentally shot the famous “Savage” singer’s feet. Peterson was found guilty of assault with a firearm, unlawful possession of a gun, and reckless use of a firearm in December 2022.
