Rapper King Harris, whose parents are T.I. and Tiny Harris, was arrested in Gwinnett County early Sunday morning. The arrest followed a traffic stop that quickly became more serious.
According to TMZ, police stopped him around 1 a.m. after reportedly seeing him speeding significantly over the speed limit.
Police say they saw a gun in the car during the stop and asked the driver to get out, but he didn’t comply.
A search allegedly uncovered a vape pen said to contain THC, per the outlet.
He was arrested and charged with possessing drugs, a serious crime. He also faced a lesser charge for supposedly hindering the police, and received tickets for other traffic offenses.
What made the arrest even stranger was that Harris was wearing a bright Pikachu costume.
Harris was reportedly released on bail roughly five hours after his arrest.
The rapper shared a selfie on Instagram Stories after being pulled over while still wearing a Pikachu costume, seemingly documenting the incident.
He posted a video of himself in the costume online, with a caption saying he was enjoying Tokyo as Pikachu, then jokingly referenced being arrested in Atlanta, comparing the police to Team Rocket and his arrest to being ‘caught’ and thrown in jail overnight.
Harris then posted another photo of himself, this time without the costume, and was seen making an offensive gesture to the camera.
He also posted a message targeting police, using an expletive and making an offensive comment about an officer’s wife, according to TMZ.
The incident is not the first time Harris has encountered legal issues in Georgia.
In 2024, he was arrested at a Dunwoody gas station after police said he almost hit an officer and marijuana odor was detected in his car.
He was moved to Pickens County because of an outstanding arrest warrant. This warrant was issued after he didn’t show up in court for a 2022 traffic ticket related to accusations of speeding and driving under the influence.
Those charges in Pickens County were ultimately dropped in August 2025.
