Ranking every D23 Disney Park announcement in the level of our excitement!

As a long-time Disney enthusiast who has spent countless hours exploring the magical kingdoms of the world, I am absolutely thrilled with the latest announcements from D23 Expo! The upcoming additions and transformations at Walt Disney World are truly mind-blowing, and I can hardly wait to experience them all.

Anticipation ran high among fans that D23 would unveil significant announcements. However, Disney surpassed all anticipations by revealing an impressive lineup of new attractions destined for Disney parks worldwide. What made it even more exciting was the confirmation that these projects aren’t just conceptual ideas; they are currently in development, with construction on several slated to commence this year or the next.

As an avid fan, I’m blown away by the news that every park is set to receive something new! And let me tell you, Walt Disney World is really upping its game with these upcoming additions – perhaps as a response to Universal’s Epic Universe park launching next year. It’s going to be tough, but I’ve managed to rank each of the new Disney park attractions from least exciting to the ones that have me absolutely thrilled! Over the next few years, it looks like Disney is set to deliver some incredible guest experiences!

14. Stark Flight Ride

As a long-time fan of the Marvel universe, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement when I see this new attraction for Avengers Campus. From my years of attending theme parks and being captivated by immersive experiences, I can tell that this ride has all the makings of a unique and engaging adventure.

13. Mandalorian/Grogu Falcon Ride

As someone who grew up watching Star Wars movies and visiting Disney parks for years, I have to say that the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run ride at Galaxy’s Edge is a must-do for any fan of the franchise. While I enjoyed the overall experience, I feel that the storyline could be improved upon to make it more engaging and immersive.

12. Coco Boat Ride

As a longtime Pixar fan and theme park enthusiast, I must say that I am quite intrigued by the latest rumors circulating about a potential Coco-themed boat ride coming to Disney California Adventure (DCA). Having spent countless hours at Epcot’s Mexico pavilion marveling at the old Rio de Tiempo ride, I can see some similarities between the two rides in terms of their storytelling and setting.

11. DCA Avatar Ride

Just as anticipated, Disneyland is set to introduce an Avatar-inspired area, fortunately steering clear of mimicking Disney’s Animal Kingdom (DAK). Instead, it draws inspiration from the second movie and the upcoming third installment, featuring landscapes ranging from underwater scenes to mountain ranges blanketed by jungle.

Instead of experiencing the main attraction as Flights of Passage, you’ll embark on an even more thrilling boat ride filled with eerie creatures. This innovative twist sets Avatar apart and adds an exciting new dimension to Disneyland Resort, enhancing its future appeal.

10. Walt Disney: A Magical Life

Frankly, it’s astonishing that Disney hadn’t attempted this earlier. The upcoming show titled “Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln” will feature a lifelike and authentic representation of an older Walt Disney in his office, sharing stories about his life and aspirations. The creators aim to use genuine recordings of Walt along with an impressive likeness of him. This is a long-awaited tribute to a man who played a crucial role in creating the magic we all know today, and it seems that the Imagineers are determined to honor the man who initiated it all. Fans should find this new show particularly noteworthy.

9. Disney Starlight

A Disney nighttime parade is hard to beat, especially when compared to the legendary Main Street Electrical Parade and Spectromagic. This upcoming one promises floats featuring state-of-the-art special effects, making characters like Cinderella, Encanto’s cast, and Peter Pan come alive in a way that even includes Peter “flying.” It might just be the long-awaited comeback of the cherished Disney nighttime spectacle.

8. Lion King Flume Ride

The recently rebranded Disney Adventure Realm aims to pique curiosity among visitors. An effective method could be a Lion King-inspired area featuring what seems like a Lion King adaptation of Splash Mountain. While some speculate whether they should have chosen Tiana instead, it appears this is part of a broader land that complements well. Regardless, transforming a classic Disney tale into a log flume ride is an exciting way to establish the new park’s popularity.

7. Spider-Man Rides

As a lifelong theme park enthusiast, I must say that the international parks are always on the cutting edge when it comes to innovative and exciting rides. Having traveled extensively to explore various parks around the world, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible attractions they offer. The new Spider-Man-themed coaster in Shanghai, reminiscent of Disney’s Cosmic Rewind, is nothing short of breathtaking, with its state-of-the-art effects that transport riders into a whole new world. Similarly, Hong Kong’s upcoming Web Slingers ride featuring Doctor Octopus is bound to be a hit, given the park’s reputation for delivering top-notch experiences.

6. Casita Madrigal/Tropical Americas

The specifics about the Encanto-themed ride are still under wraps, but given its massive success as one of Disney’s recent blockbusters, it promises to be an enjoyable experience. It seems to follow the format of a traditional dark ride, possibly introducing a fresh tale centered around the family. Of course, fans will be delighted with the inclusion of popular songs from the movie, including Bruno’s catchy tune. This new attraction is expected to serve as the centerpiece for the Animal Kingdom’s makeover, filling the old Dinoland space and demonstrating that classic dark rides continue to captivate audiences.

In simpler terms, the entire Tropical America region remains operational, ensuring that Dinosaur continues to operate, thereby enhancing the overall experience of DAK (Disney’s Animal Kingdom) for its visitors, by preserving a link to the past.

5. Cars In Frontierland

It appears that there’s apprehension about the potential necessity to eliminate Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America for this project to succeed. However, the prospect of a Cars-themed park in Florida is intriguing, given that the Cars Land section stands out as a highlight within California Adventure. It’s essential to clarify that Disney isn’t simply replicating the rides from DCA; instead, they plan to introduce a unique twist on the main race.

A more suitable option could be a family-oriented car rally event that will provide a scaled-down experience and help manage larger crowds more effectively. Some might raise eyebrows at transforming Frontierland for this purpose, as integrating Cars into the region would mean Big Thunder no longer holds the title of “the wildest ride in the wilderness.”

4. DAK Indiana Jones

It’s long been fascinating that Disney never transformed their popular Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye attraction at Disneyland into Florida’s Disney’s Animal Kingdom (DAK). However, this oversight will soon be rectified with the upcoming addition to DAK, replacing Dinoland USA. Fortunately, instead of simply replicating the California ride, Disney is using advanced technology to create a brand-new adventure with a unique storyline and environment for the ride. Although the last Indiana Jones film received mixed reviews, the character remains widely beloved, so a more daring version of this attraction should appeal to the adventurer’s spirit and encourage visits to DAK.

3. Avengers Infinity Chase

After years of planning, the Avengers Campus in DCA is finally getting a new ride to join the Spider-Man one. The plotline has the Avengers uniting against an alternate reality King Thanos who won the Infinity War and now wants to conquer our world. The ride vehicles make it appear that this will be a take on Universal’s Spider-Man ride, with the same mix of screen tech, special effects, and a thrilling track ride. Put the Avengers against this threat in a top ride and it shows how Disneyland is able to use the characters very well for a one-of-a-kind attraction.

2. Monstropolis

A huge surprise was the announcement that Hollywood Studios would get a Monstropolis area based on Monsters Inc. While popular, the property hasn’t been used as much, but this does look impressive. The big gun is Disney’s first suspended coaster, which looks like a wilder take on the DCA Monsters Inc ride. That alone should elevate this entire area and make it a monstrously awesome place to visit when it opens in 2026.

1. Villains Land

Among all the buzz, it’s this development that has fans most thrilled: A whole realm dedicated to Disney villains is being whispered about for years, and now, this prospective expansion in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom looks truly magnificent. Details are scarce regarding the main attractions, but the artwork suggests Maleficent in her dragon form, menacing towers, mysterious caves, and possibly a thrilling roller coaster.

The essence lies in creating an extraordinary encounter, focusing on the villains from Disney tales, characters that fans can’t help but love to loathe. A twist on traditional ‘meet and greets’ could involve a thrilling performance, making it more appealing. It seems the Imagineers are enjoying the creative process, aiming to elevate this area into another timeless Disney masterpiece.
