In 2023, “Railway Islands 2” – a fittingly titled sequel to the original “Railway Islands”, which was released on Xbox – is now accessible. Similar to its predecessor, this new game challenges your puzzle-solving skills by requiring you to arrange hexagonal pieces.
As a gamer, I find myself on lush islands where the challenge lies in managing the paths of one or two trains. My goal is to ensure they reach their destinations safely without any unfortunate collisions. Properly placing tracks is just one piece of the puzzle; I also need to strategically position switches and make sure my train routes connect seamlessly.
On forty delightfully minimalist islands, you can tackle the game’s assorted puzzles. Moreover, the Level Editor allows you to create your own islands and railway dilemmas. The sequel to “Railway Islands,” named “Railway Islands 2,” is currently available for both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, priced at $4.99/£4.19 with a special launch discount that won’t last forever.
