ZERO X and PTE. LTD. announced that their strategy game, Ragnarok: Monster World, will be shutting down on December 30, 2025. The game launched on October 1, 2024, but will only be available for a little over a year due to financial difficulties.

Despite efforts, Ragnarok: Monster World is ending service after facing financial challenges

I was surprised to learn the game was shutting down, rather than receiving new content. Ragnarok: Monster World is a real-time strategy game based on the well-known Ragnarok Online world. Players collect monsters, build battle decks, improve their characters, and compete against each other.

The team behind Ragnarok: Monster World announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the game will be closing on December 30th. They explained that despite their best efforts, recent financial difficulties have made it impossible to continue operating the game.

Players can download the game until November 6, and enjoy it till December 29 before closure

After a recent announcement, we’ve stopped all purchases within the game and rewards related to blockchain technology. You’ll still be able to play until December 29th. After that date, the game’s wallet, decentralized exchange (DEX), and NFT marketplace will close permanently. The game will be removed from app stores starting November 6th, and all servers and blockchain connections will be shut down for good on December 29th.

Although the game’s closure is disappointing, many fans have reacted negatively, accusing the developers of abandoning both players and investors. They’ve voiced their frustration, with some calling the situation a disgrace to the game’s reputation. Others are demanding explanations about the future of their in-game tokens stored in the Ronin wallet.
