Ragnarok M: Classic is Gravity’s ‘shop-free’ RPG that opens closed beta in the SEA
Story Highlights
- Ragnarok M: Classic introduces a shop-free system, relying solely on Zeny as the in-game currency.
- The game includes Offline Battle Mode, a free lifetime Monthly Pass, a safe refinement system, and more features.
As a seasoned Ragnarok veteran with more years under my belt than I care to admit, I must say that the announcement of Ragnarok M: Classic has me positively giddy! After countless hours spent grinding, crafting, and navigating the treacherous waters of Midgard, I was beginning to think that my days as a Ragnarok adventurer were numbered. But then, like a ray of hope in the midst of a storm, Gravity dropped this gem of a game into our laps.
It seemed like there wouldn’t be another game set in the Ragnarok universe for some time, but then came along a new one called “Ragnarok M: Classic”. What sets this apart is that it offers a shop-free gaming experience, making the RPG available as a closed beta in Southeast Asia.
Ragnarok M: Classic is aimed at providing players with freebies and easy progression
In Gravity’s latest RPG, you’re treated to an enjoyable, store-absent journey. This means there won’t be any in-game purchases or shops to spend money on. The game emphasizes balanced gameplay, with the currency being Zeny, and everything being attainable through advancement without having to shell out a single cent.
I took a peek at the gameplay, and it appears to adhere to the standard layout of a Ragnarok game. Essentially, the graphics are impressive, the free-roaming aspect is satisfactory, and the storyline incorporates elements similar to Visual Novels. The combat could use some improvement, but it’s not terribly weak either.

Here’s one way of paraphrasing it:
As a gamer, I’m always thrilled by the weekly card crafting system! I gather materials from vanquishing monsters, Minis, and MVPs to create potent cards. With six classic job options at my disposal, each with unique skill trees, I can seamlessly switch roles on the fly to conquer various obstacles. Best of all, unlocking these jobs won’t cost me a dime!
